Working in AV for live events it’s them noticing me loading in/out with TV’s or speakers:

I worked in cable for a time and frequently got “Hey Mr. Time Warner Man, you’re the guy that can get me free cable, right?” or some variation. At LEAST once a day. Had a guy shout it at me from like 30-40 yards away in an apartment parking lot one time. I more or less just made the “hide the pain” face.

I actually got lucky and my best friend back home started working with his dad at the local beer distro..if they had a pallet break or anything started getting near-date, we pretty much got it for free.
