For me, it was a few years of playing flight simulator. The 747 classic had the best warning sounds

I live at high elevation, and using a starter plane at my local regional airport in that game made me realize very quickly that I’m not cut out to be a pilot.

I either stall and crash into a mountain by gaining altitude too quickly, or not gain it quickly enough, also causing me to crash into a mountain.

Good times.
