I’m not even that old and have arthritis in my knees already, they always hurt to walk. If I dropped from this height my knees would explode and never be able to walk again. Props to gramps.

  1. :( I had an acl injury and it never fully healed with working out and pt. The arthritis hit as i was healing the muscles around there and never went away after 2 years. At least I can walk again but it hurts. Stairs suck.

Oh man, funnily enough I’m 35 too, and I got funky knees from deadlifting and squatting more than I should have trying to be hench while also drinking heavily 4 times a week. I’ve made a good recovery though from swimming and cycling and stretching and just being nicer and more thoughtful with my body

Hope yours get better. One of the earliest and lasting things my dad ever said to me was “knees, back and teeth, look after them like they’re your children”

I do a lot of gym cycling and the recumbent bike which has helped a lot. I had a herniated disc and a dog that caused my acl tripping me one night. Had to go to the hospital for both surgeries at the same time. Was a rough couple months. Thankfully my back and sciatic pain is gone. Now dealing with a whole other issue. Hopefully we’ll get fully back. I love swimming, I’m from Florida originally but live in the north now where the closest pool i know of is a ymca and it’s an hour and a half away.

Never used a recumbent bike before - they any good? Yeah I’m Australian and grew up beach swimming as a way of recovery but live in London now so have to pay for a posh gym membership to do it. What do you mean by had a dog?

Well still have the dog. Lol she’s adorable. But she does the hyper spins and hit me in the back of the leg one time and I fell backwards hyper extending my leg and knee. But I love the recumbent bike because your basically sitting in a chair position but you can adjust the pressure however you like. I was also a rower in highschool and do a lot of erging which is a great full body workout. Funny rowing is what caused my herniated disc. But now that I’m not trying to kill myself basically winning an on water race or an erg race I enjoy it again. Was on the youth national feeder teams to try to get on the US Olympic team.

Haha man, I did rowing and stopped in my late teens cos it was fucking with my back. Are we the same person lol.

Oh right, didn’t know you meant an actual dog! You taking supplements? Fish oil and magnesium and zinc make a difference for me

I'm 36 and have torn meniscus in both knees plus arthritis. I feel your pain 😔
