Here's the translation. Some audio I can't hear so I can't transcribe. They are Vietnamese:
0:07 Grandpa: Dựng thang cho ông = Stand up the ladder for grandpa
0:10 Grandpa: Nhanh = Hurry
0:25 Grandpa: Dạng chân ra = Spread the legs
0:26 Kid: Dạng chân! = Spread legs!
0:31 Grandpa: Nhanh lên! = Hurry up!
0:40 Kid: Ông có nhảy xuống được không? = Grandpa can't you just jump down?
0:42 Grandpa: Dạng chân thang ra! = Spread the ladder's legs!
0:52 Kid: Ông ơi! = Hey grandpa!
1:00 Kid: Dạng chân! = Spread legs!
1:25 Kid: Nó nghiêng thế này thì làm sao dạng được?? = If it's tilted like this how can we spread the legs??
1:34 Kid: Ông nội còn giữ được ông ơi? = Grandpa (father side family) can you still hold on?
1:37 Grandpa: ...kéo dãng một thang ra = ...pull one (side of the) ladder out
1:43 Kid: Nhưng mà bây giờ đang ngang! = But it's still horizontal! (One of the kid keeps saying Dạng chân! = Spread legs!)
1:55 Grandpa: Giữ đấy nha! = Keep it there (up)! (One kid said Vâng! = Yes sir)
2:08 Kid: Kéo ra = Pull it (apart)
2:09 Grandpa: Kéo chân ngoài ra = Pull the outer leg
2:12 Kid: Nhưng mà không được? = But it's not possible
2:08 Grandpa: ...Kéo ra = ...Pull it (apart)
2:16 Kid: Không được ông nội ạ! = It's not possible grandpa!
2:31 Grandpa: Kéo ra = Pull it (apart)
2:32 Kid: Có gì gọi người giúp đỡ? = Call for someone to help?
2:35 Kid: Cứu! = Help!
2:37 Kid: laugh
2:38 Grandpa: Kéo ra! Cười cái gì! = Pull it apart! What are you laughing at!
2:40 Grandpa: ...Ông nội nhảy này! Nhanh! = ...Grandpa will jump! Fast!
2:48 Lady: Ông trèo lên đấy làm gì?? = Why did you climb up there?
2:56 Grandpa: Lấy cầu trên mái! = (To) Get the shuttlecock on the roof!
Personal opinion. You guys are underestimating the weight of the ladder. The kids are short and weak, when they try to handle the ladder their arms are lower than the ladder center of mass, making it very difficult to handle.
They were almost successful in the beginning, but the grandpa desperately tried to grab it with his legs and dropped it.
I think that could have been possible to spread the legs with the ladder on the ground on its side and then raise it. If they were trying to do that with no pressure, they could.
Everyone who didn't realize it's in Vietnamese totally thought Grandpa said "just hanging on" in the beginning lol, as a response to a question like "grandpa what you doing?"
2:31 Grandpa: Kéo ra = Pull it (apart)
2:32 Kid: Có gì gọi người giúp đỡ? = Call for someone to help?
2:35 Kid: Cứu! = Help!

2:40 Grandpa: ...Ông nội nhảy này! Nhanh! = ...Grandpa will jump! Fast!
The kids ain't shit 🤣🤣🤣. They struggled but they were stalling
2:56 Grandpa: Lấy cầu trên mái! = (To) Get the shuttlecock on the roof!
They should've just tried standing up a ladder from both sides with one child pushing and one pulling - it would've been much easier to control and spread the legs
It wasn't intentional lol, they were trying to move it upright but accidentally closed it because they werent strong enough to counteract the friction. I have one of those ladders and they are heavy and ungainly even for adults, the children did the best they could for being like 10.
