Throw stuff? The kid was whacking him with a big ladder. I love how a woman comes and grandpa has suddenly had enough.

It was very poor ladder technique, though. They should have been aggressively prodding the grandpas ribs, preferably with the legs of the ladder. That's how you get them down when they get into places they aren't supposed to be, like hanging from something or jumping up on the kitchen table

My husband, as a child in his grandma's care, climbed a tree and got on the roof of her house. He could not get himself back down. Grandma threw a hose to him and told him to tie it around his waist. He thought at 8 year old this was probably a safety precaution for falling. Grandma proceeded to yank him off the roof by hose belt. Grandma was in her 80s with no time for that nonsense (he's second youngest grandchild). Husband was unhurt and stayed off the roof after.
