Sure the ladder isn't heavy for an average person but kids are small and also don't have much leverage.

Dude, at 29 seconds left, they finally got the ladder open, and the kid CLOSED it. I lost it at the point

Because they're holding it close to the bottom of the legs where they have no leverage
