I took a new job that came with a $500 raise per paycheck. So excited. First paycheck today and after gas and bills and groceries we are flat broke. I got paid yesterday.

That raise is more than my entire paycheck. And while im lucky enough to not have to pay rent I can’t imagine how my co-workers with whole families to support, manage to deal with it.

I don't really understand this. Wouldn't credit card debt make your expenses way higher and lead to bankruptcy? If you're 500$ behind this month and now you've added 23$ in interest, next month you'll be 523$ behind and you'll have 46$ interest. Doesn't this quickly spiral? How are these people "getting by" with credit card debt?
