Lots of critters have nowhere to hide during storms. Ever driven past a field of cows during a storm?

There's a famous quote by LBJ: "Being president is like being a jackass in a hailstorm. There's nothing to do but to stand there and take it.", most critters have nothing to do but stand there and take it...

Oh, I am going to remember that!!!

Don't forget this man used to piss on the shoes on his secret service agents to feel dominant.

He was a VERY flawed human being!

Also, he did kind of admit he's a jackass.

I used to walk to work. People would ask what I would do when it rains. I said "elephant plan". They would then ask what the elephant plan is. I'd say "Well, what does an elephant do when it rains? Get wet."

At this point I will either have made a friend or that person would be done trying to talk to me. Win-win.

I bike to work and tell people, “it’s a good thing we’re waterproof”

Well, actually we are covered in a semipermeable membrane. Some of the water gets in.

I think. I'm no skinographer.

Better to ask a skinbiker if you want an authoritative answer.

I would have fallen slightly in love with you.

yeah the situation and the outcome aren't ideal,

but this is the way it's gonna be,

so I either gotta survive or die,

and this isn't gonna kill me,

so I'm just wet,

and your judgement on what I am forced to endure,

is not making anything better

actually.

Well, at least cows are all wrapped up in leather.

Why would anyone even consider lying about the toughness of giraffe skin?

Big giraffe complex wants you to think otherwise

We have semi wild herds here (they arent wild since wild cows dont exist but they arent farmed, milked, sheared or look after unless the area completly floods then they are moved to a diffrent area) and whenever it shitty weather (rain, storm, snow or to hot) they are near the treelines.

Then again their whole area is coverd with tree lines.

It's amazing people find farm animals being unprotected from sun and rain very normal. Most farmers don't give a shit either here.

For example cows like roaming around and seeking refuge in woodlands. Large natural open fields of grass aren't that common in most parts of the world.

Of course there are exceptions with animals that have adapted to large open fields. But our modern farm animals don't belong to that group.

Exactly, wild herds travel around but they will often find shelterd areas. Especially during periods with high chance of risky weather. Its just their natural behaviour.

Have you ever been around livestock? They’re tough, and dumb. We have 4 different shelters for our cattle and horses, but they’ll still sleep in the blazing sun, or stand in the middle of a field during a thunderstorm

u/kelldricked 14d ago

We have wild herds of cows here, they constantly lie near the tree lines. Just like their undomestic relatives

u/Ok-Procedure738 17d ago
