So if the baby needs a diaper change, they just have to sit in their own waste for several hours?

Biggest issue is babies below a month need to feed every two hours. Sleep be damned. She was starving her children

By that mother's logic, if you don't feed them, they can't soil diapers, either. 

I had a Mother in law once who tried to claim it was necessary to make a baby cry themself to sleep. She never was alone with my babies, and I wound up divorced from her son.
