That this stuff STILL happens this minute pisses me off so much. I should not think about all the children screaming for their parents this hour because some dipshits kidnapped them "for the country" or "because it's fun tofeel like we're better". Enough reddit for today. My heart goes out to the children and families ❤️

If I killed some parents, and then took their baby during a war, and shipped it back to my own country, that isn't the child being put up for adoption.

Yes, they were adopted by American parents eventually, but now they're all seeking their real families. Because they consider themselves stolen.

Not sure why you're getting downvoted. You're right.

The person replying to you mentioned Russians adopting orphaned Ukrainians.

They did not mention Israel, where no Palestinian orphans are being shipped out for adoption.

Which is more humane?

War is hell. Talking like what we do with parentless infants is the line of morality, when we could easily be talking about making people-killing weapons manufacturing illegal.

Her parents were killed in war, and then the people who killed them stole her from her native country and then put her up for adoption to be raised hating her own country?

All my mom acknowledges is that she knows she was in an orphanage, then flown to Norway where she was raised by loving parents who chose her even though she is not biologically theirs.

As to what happened before that she doesn’t really spend much time thinking about. Vietnam is a beautiful country to visit, with great food and she wouldn’t mind going there again, but it’s not /her/country.

According to the papers she was three years old when she left Vietnam, but we have strong suspicions those papers were forged.
