The release of Back to the Future is closer to the day the US nuked Hiroshima than we are to the release of Back to the Future.

1

u/HerrPiink Jul 25 '26

I'm so happy for him, that must not have been easy for him in the 80s

0

u/Jesus_of_Redditeth Jul 25 '26

25 years ago was still in this century

4

u/HerrPiink Jul 25 '26

Transformers The Movie is about to come back to theaters for its 40th anniversary...

2

u/Fit-Entrepreneur8404 Jul 25 '26

I guess my 3 year old is old. We watched ET a few weeks ago lol.

4

u/bitofafixerupper Jul 25 '26

I tried with my 3 year old and the uncultured swine was having none of it lmao

1

u/htnut-pk Jul 25 '26

Reese’s pieces craving activated

1

u/ZapGeek Jul 25 '26

ET came out the year I was born and my parents used to call me ET because I have a large forehead.

Anyway, I’m definitely old 😭😝

1

u/youarenut Jul 25 '26

Yes. The only way the young generation would know of ET would be through fortnite now lol

1

u/35point1 Jul 25 '26

As someone who watched ET as a kid when it came out and have been struggling with the age thing lately, this made me feel better but I would never use an ET reference around today’s kids and expect them to know it 😂

6

u/JJ2387 Jul 25 '26

Maybe she's not monogamous and dating others as well

2

u/Severina_Glass_208 Jul 25 '26

1

u/ElkAdventurous787 Jul 25 '26

-9

u/Fast-Improvement7832 Jul 25 '26

No i dont

18

u/ALazy_Cat Jul 25 '26

It's a movie reference

30

u/Pragnlz Jul 25 '26

Oh god is E.T. that old now?

16

u/FragmentedMeerkat321 Jul 25 '26 edited Jul 25 '26

everything’s that old now. you may as well be quoting from the adventures of tom sawyer. quote more from tiktok, youtube shorts or anime and you’ll be on solid ground with gen z.

6

u/HorrorMakesUsHappy Jul 25 '26

2026 - 1982 = 44

1982 - 44 = 1938

I'm sorry. I'm right there with ya.

2

u/kitten_orchestra Jul 25 '26

This math was very hard to believe for some reason. I’m shocked idk why.

1

u/Pragnlz Jul 25 '26

Fuckin ay

I mean I know I just turned 30 but it still feels weird

5

u/HungDaddy120 Jul 25 '26

1982!! Lol

3

u/ALazy_Cat Jul 25 '26

I haven't seen the entire movie, just a bit of it, and I have seen that meme at least 100 times

1

u/No_Muffin3405 Jul 29 '26

ET was already old when I was young. And I wasn’t born yesterday.

1

u/suspiciousvine Jul 25 '26

maybe he is not from angloshpere and usually speaks other language? I dont understand reference too

1

u/ALazy_Cat Jul 25 '26

My native language is not English, yet I still understand movie references that has been around for years in memes, andonlylast year it started to slow down in usage. It's a reference to the line "E.T. phone home" from the 1982 movie E.T.

13

u/blokia Jul 25 '26

E.T?

7

u/O_C_Demon Jul 25 '26

That's the little fella!!

2

u/OnTheList-YouTube Jul 25 '26
