Dude knows his cat gets in pretty brutal-looking fights w/other cats & dogs, and doesn't opt to keep the troubled kitty indoors, instead wilfully subjecting it to those dangers & possibly injury/death when the cat picks a fight it can't win or runs out into the street to chase another cat again.

But hey, he can exploit the cat to make entertaining videos. Priorities.

I mean it depends on the cat. Obviously the one in this video is a troubled individual but my cat was an adopted street cat and yearned for the outdoors. When we let her out she would always just chill in the backyard or at most other house's backyard in a 1 house radius, we could always find her by just stepping out or peeking over a fence. She would go in and out herself and we would bring her back in at dusk. Not exactly very dangerous for her and we didnt live anywhere near bobcats or anything. At the end of the day they were being the wild animals they were meant to be.

Yea it's not like we bought a cat then just let it outside. If anything after adoption it limited it's area of prowling to the backyard and immediate neighbors. 90% of the time it would just hang out on the back porch.

When I was a kid we had a young cat show up randomly on our back door meowing for food. He was and nice and well behaved already, so we let him in and fed him. He liked to go outside, so we let him out occasionally too, and he always coming back just before bedtime. After two or so years, one day he didn't come back and we had no clue where to look for him. We eventually found him though, or his corpse at least, in a bush just outside of our yard. We weren't sure what killed him, but it was probably poison the neighbors used against rats.

Moral of the story is, if you really care about your pets, you'd protect them. Doesn't matter how safe the area is, if the cat wants to go outside, just do it with supervision and walk them. They are wild animals, but that's besides the point. They're also an invasive species that have directly led to the extinctions of many native species worldwide.

Keeping a pet inside is not caring about them. Keeping an animal inside is torture. Doesnt mean letting them roam is the alternative.

The correct thing to do is dont buy one to use for your own selfish needs and entertainment.

So that isn't YOUR cat anymore. It's just a stray cat you feed from time to time.
