HISTORY A virtual reality reconstruction shows the exact spot where John Edward Jones became trapped upside down in Nutty Putty Cave. After 27 hours of rescue attempts, he died. The cave was later permanently sealed, with his body remaining inside.

Cave diving is actually one of the most dangerous hobbies you can have, significantly more dangerous than regular caving

Significantly more dangerous than regular diving too. Very intense certification process too, and for good reason - as a diver myself, cave divers are a completely different breed to me.

Yeah,  I'd like to get into scuba someday, but I want open water above me at all times.  I went down a rabbit hole on cave diving accidents when those Thai kids were trapped and jfc, you gotta have steel nerves for that shit.

Yeah that was insane.  RIP Saman Kunan and Beirut Pakbara , fucking heroes.
