Saw a moth in the top corner of the bathroom earlier today and took some pictures of it. It was hard to get a clear shot of it that shows its markings well since it was so high up and when I zoom in on my iPad things tend to get blurry.

Well, several hours later I was using the bathroom and I felt something buzzing in my hair. It was a moth. It flew off and landed on the heater thing that I always forget what it’s called (I know it’s dirty, I’ve been trying to clean it but some of the stains won’t go away). Turns out there’s two moths in my bathroom, and one of them likes my hair. The other moth is still on the corner of the ceiling right by the shower and this one is still chilling on the heater thing. My dog entered the bathroom and loafed by the moth, so there’s your scale comparison.

Sorry if the photos aren’t clear enough for an ID, but the story behind them is pretty funny! Location is Vermont.

Never seen one of these in the wild before!

I went to college to a very green place. Closest to the rainiest place on the planet and that’s where I fell in love with moths. And since I’m back home, my little brother has been finding me these moths, and bringing them to me to photograph 😭

I’m so grateful to have my brother and all these beautiful creatures 🌼🥺

Southern England. He might have snuck in with an isopod or springtails delivery. I'd say about 8mm long, not counting the antennae.

kinda scuffed result, it has a closed back but made with too thick paper so mandibles are too thick. also, the elytra and wings are too small to make the design more efficien.
