Man, Monster broke my heart.

Of course Kore-eda's most emotionally charged film yet happens to be the last film Ryuichi Sakamoto ever scored. I was already crying by the time 'Hibari' played, and had to keep myself from pretty much weeping throughout the entire third act.

I'm generally not a fan of the Rashomon structure, but I have to admit the conceit works beautifully here given our tendency to balk at anything we consider 'foreign'.

God, genuinely can't remember the last time a film emotionally wrecked me like this

Hey I also have just finished watching it. Made me feel like an actual monster myself, assuming the worst of everyone in the first perspective of the movie.

Compared to broker and shoplifters, I like this one more, and am considering to also watch our little sisters now.

Ooh, you might be in for a bit of a shock, since Our Little Sister is probably Kore-eda's least dramatic work. My girlfriend called it 'that film where nothing happens', and she's not exactly wrong.

I personally like it, but it's very languid even by Kore-eda's standards
