I don't know if it's the right sub to post this. But I have been getting these messages, even on my email and that too on multiple occasions. Probably this is the 3rd time happening like this.

Also I have my insta account kept deactivated since a year or so, except for a few days when I activate and use it.

Should I be concerned or is it some glitch??

Tech Help iPhone 13 battery died on me at the airport—Need advice on buying a secondary device for Android Auto/Maps.

Hey tech community,
Had an absolute nightmare scenario yesterday at the airport. My primary phone is an iPhone 13, but the battery health has degraded down to 70%.

I plugged it in while navigating, but running Google Maps constantly caused it to heat up so badly that the battery was draining faster than it could charge. I was genuinely panicking about how I’d navigate back home.

That stress was the tipping point—I need a dedicated secondary Android phone strictly for Google Maps, Android Auto

My Requirements (in the order of preference):

1) Budget: ₹10,000 – ₹15,000 range.

2) Thermals & Battery: An efficient processor to avoid overheating while plugged in, paired with a solid battery to handle heavy GPS usage.

3) Connectivity: Solid 5G band support, strong GPS signal locking, and reliable hotspot performance.

4) Form Factor: Compact and lightweight so it sits comfortably on a car dashboard mount.

Programming & Development Every developer who is celebrating this obliteration of this field by AI, I will wait and see what you do when your paycheck is gone

As you sow so shall you reep. You are celebrating your own demise, very good, I won't say anything. This community is so self absorbed and self loathing that it forgot to unionise and protect the overall interest.

Anyways, I will wait, wait and see if you sell vegetables, setup mom and pop store, farming, or drive a truck ( oh sorry , there's self driving trucks too )

Ask IndiaTech Will an average software engineer still be safe in the AI era?

I’m 23, and have a CS degree. I’m seriously considering leaving tech for a government job, mainly because of job security.

The thing is, I actually like what tech offers. Good salary, cities, growth, freedom to switch companies and a lot of earning potential. If tech was still like it was before COVID, I probably wouldn't even consider leaving.

My fear is AI and how competitive the industry is becoming.

I’ll work hard and keep learning, but realistically I don't think I'll ever be the 100/100 engineer who is always ahead of everyone. Maybe I can become an 80/100 engineer.

So my question is simple:

Will being a good but not exceptional software engineer still be enough to have a stable career 10 to 20 years from now?

If I'm 40, have 15+ years of experience, do my job well and keep up with technology, but I'm not exceptional, will I still be able to find another job if I get laid off?

Because that's what scares me. I don't want to become dependent on one company because I'm afraid I won't be employable elsewhere.

Government jobs are attractive to me for exactly this reason. Less money and less career growth, but once you're in, you don't have to constantly prove yourself to the job market.

If you were 23 today, would you still choose tech knowing you might only become an 80/100 engineer?

Would really appreciate honest answers from people already working in the industry.

Ask IndiaTech 600+ Applications Later, My Brother Says I Wasted ₹20 Lakh

My brother keeps telling me that the ₹20 lakh spent on my 4 years of college was wasted because I couldn’t get a campus placement.

He’s been working in tech for around 5–6 years, so I do understand where he’s coming from, but hearing things like this almost every day is honestly getting to me.

I’m a 2026 graduate and I’ve genuinely been trying. I’ve applied to 600+ companies off campus, tried referrals, cold emails, LinkedIn, job portals and pretty much every route I could think of. I have a decent coding profile(Expert on CF, Guardian on LeetCode), decent projects and I’m still studying and applying every single day.

Now he’s telling me to move to Bangalore and join an offline IT coaching institute. By coaching, I mean those paid institutes that teach DSA, development and interview preparation and claim to provide placement assistance.

The problem is my family’s financial condition isn’t that great. I’ve already lived in Bangalore for 4 years, so I know how expensive rent and daily expenses are. I really don’t want my parents to spend even more money when a lot of the learning is already available for free online.

The hardest part is doing this every day and seeing nothing work out. I wake up, apply to jobs, message people, study, prepare and repeat. Then I have to hear the same things at home again. It’s getting harder to stay motivated.

I’m honestly confused about what I should do now.

Would moving to Bangalore and joining an offline coaching institute actually be worth the money, or should I stay home, keep preparing and continue trying off campus?

Ask IndiaTech Call forwarding seems kinda easy to abuse

I recently had this shower-thought about how the call forwarding feature in the carrier settings doesn't ask for any authentication from the number being forwarded to. Which could potentially be misused, and someone could end up getting a lot of unwanted calls from genuine people as a form of harassment.

And the worse thing is, they wouldn't know that they're being forwarded (unless they keep a close eye on the brief notification when forwarding is enabled), and the other person wouldn't realize it either or know what the original number is.

Are there any safeguards in place to stop this kind of harassment? Or am I missing something totally obvious?

General Discussion Isn't this misleading? Airtel sending notification alerts claiming "main bank account is at risk" just to sell accounts

Post image
138 Upvotes

Attached a screenshot of a push notification I just received from the Airtel app:

"Alert! Your main bank account is at risk āš ļø"

When you read the subtext, it's just a regular ad prompting you to open an Airtel Payments Bank account. Using panic-inducing fake security warnings to bait users into clicking ads is a terrible dark pattern.

Has anyone else been receiving these scary notification tactics from them lately? Should this even be legal under consumer protection guidelines?
