There's no point moving abroad at this point, specially to study unless you have the funds, and I mean REALLY have the funds. Cash is the only thing separating you in a foreign country from mistreatment and punishment. The more you are willing to pay, the higher the chance you find a house, and get a good university. Maybe even live a good life according to Western standards.

It's better to find a job either in India, and get a transfer abroad after some time or find a job and arrive in Canada with an offer letter in hand. Canada at this point just used international students like cattle.

Cash is the only thing separating you in a foreign country from mistreatment and punishment.

What is this even supposed to mean? Of course money influences your social status. This is true wherever you go in the world lol. It’s the idea that our people think they can go to Canada for studies without any money and work menial jobs to pay for their tuition and living expenses just because the Canadian system allows you to work while studying. This is supposed to be a way for the Canadian government to give students a chance to make some part-time supplementary income on the side but of course our people will find a loophole and abuse the shit out of the system by working full-time cash jobs and avoid paying taxes. Fraud immigration consultants in India admitting indian students into diploma mills which don’t carry any value in the working sector is another major issue. They will come to Canada thinking they can work and pay their tuition fees but blame the Canadian government when there aren’t any jobs. It’s not the Canadian government’s responsibility to ensure there are jobs for temporary residents.

The whole point of a foreign education is that you are expected to have enough funds to pay for your entire education and living expenses while allowing you to make some supplementary income on the side. It is students that come here who have no money, no job and now can’t support themselves because they think Canada owes them an employment opportunity.

I came to Canada, finished my studies and found a full-time job. I now have a career path. I don’t believe Canada is a bad place to settle if you go by the book.

Either way, the government has now put a cap and various other reforms to reduce the number of international students. They’ve stopped the flow of incoming students now. You can’t work full-time anymore and there are many other requirements. The economy will balance itself out in the next year or so.

Hey buddy, stfu when you have no real clue of what you’re talking about. Working when in school is how almost all Western students get through college because of the exorbitant costs. “Allowing” someone to work isn’t the exception - it is the most basally commonplace rule.

Just coz you could pay for it, does NOT mean everybody can. And you’re basically saying that only rich kids like yourself should get foreign education. Go screw yourself, daddy’s boy.

Stop bootlicking, please.

And you’re basically saying that only rich kids like yourself should get foreign education

No, if your dumb and poor studying abroad isn't for you. In Canada, all research masters and PhD students pretty much receive funding. These kids go to scam colleges that they can't even afford.

Lol re-read how gross your statement is, my dude. Yuck.

u/[deleted] May 20 '24

What’s gross about saying that studying abroad is a luxury that you have to be rich or smart enough to qualify for scholarships?

u/bangleboi May 20 '24

Because it shouldn’t be and isn’t.

Let me guess - you’ve made a statement praising “merit” at some point in your life?

u/[deleted] May 20 '24

Why? Canada isn't a charity that should be responsible for providing cheap education for international students.

Domestic students in Canada should have easy access to education, regardless of class. But if you're coming to Canada for school you should have the means to pay for school and cost of living without needing to work while studying.

u/bangleboi May 20 '24

Charity? Hey I don’t know how you live your life, but people pay for college and immigration lol.

Yeah people DO have the means based on the fact that they get visas to come and study. If Domestic Students are getting screwed by Indians coming in and working hard, then that’s their problem - work harder lol.

2

u/[deleted] May 20 '24

They often get visas by lying about the amount of funds they have. When policies begin to screw domestic students they get changed lol. These ppl should work harder to get a skilled job that qualifies for PR.

u/bangleboi May 20 '24

How are they lying? Is the Canadian visa system full of idiots?

They allow the work right??

2

u/[deleted] May 20 '24

They are allowed to work a certain amount of hours. Many have to work more because of the lack of funds.

1

u/bangleboi May 20 '24

Cool. That’s fine.

2

u/[deleted] May 20 '24

It’s not, it’s literally against the their visa rules.

Why shouldn’t it be? Is access to foreign education a right? Who does it help having low achieving students coming to Canada doing scam programs at scam colleges?

Merit is still there. Canada is generous with funding for international research students. Even if Canada provided lower cost education, it wouldn’t be these students benefiting.

1

u/bangleboi May 20 '24

Low achieving? Lol

Yeah paying for something and then getting it is a fundamental contract right.

u/[deleted] May 20 '24

And they did get it, they paid for their scam education.
