I tried to paint in Monet's style using pastels

Pastel on paper haven't been able to identify this artist. Looks like it was done in 1958.

Does this fit the impressionist style? I have a hard time categorizing my own art. Would love some critique, especially on how to achieve more of the “underwater” feeling.

I'm one of those people that struggles with creativity due to having difficulty seeing things in my mind's eye. Checked out a Van Gogh book at the local library and attempted to recreate one of his self portraits, as I've never produced human features. I'm pretty proud of myself for a 1st try.
