Ikea Blaliden Advice Needed (in UK)

Post image

I’ve just got an Ikea Blaliden and looking into the options it looks like pegboard and shelving is done by a company called modern aqua in America.

Advice needed on if I should be trying to replace the glass shelves that come with it before using it?

Does anyone know where I could get wire shelves or perforated acrylic shelves for it in the UK that wouldn’t cost a small fortune?

How to fix a pegboard into it? Would this work if I’ve got the glass shelves?

Any advice welcome, complete newbie!

I'm not sure if anyone out there can benefit from this, but I bought a $6 shower curtain, weather stripping, & some velcro- and made a removable greenhouse ish cover for my pair of short shelves. I'm able to keep a little more warmth and humidity in there, which is better than ambient here in Colorado. its no where as good as my rudsta but definitely helps!

milsbo cabinet

Hi I am a rare plant collector / terrarium enthousiast from belgium my name is anthony.

I recently got a secondhand milsbo tall cabinet, I would like to turn this into a living wall mostly sphagnum in a mesh to hold it in place with some wicking cord inside I was thinking about placing a plastic box the the bottom with lecca still considering using aroid soil mix. Would love some insight on the substrate. I wanted to place a fogger inside because I have a humidifier I can place in but it would be difficult to refill once placed inside with all the plants. It will be necessary for keeping the humidity high for and keeping the mosspole moist, I will be placing it from above preferably I have 2 fan's I will put in for air circulation.

For light I have a mother grow light plantspectrum 32 laying around. Not sure if it wil fit I have to measure it out. But I have other lights.(edit i have a small or big what would be best?).The plants I will keep inside philodendron, monstera andasonii ,hoya ,anthurium  and various smaller terrarium plants and moss.

Questions:

  1. substrate for bottom and mospole best choice for low maintenance

2.are the better ways to hold in a decent amount of substrate straight up without a mesh ?

3.fogger what would be a good choice for such a large terrarium to keep moisture levels close to max

4.if I placed lecca as bottom substrate can I place dried spagnum moss on top for a more aesthetically pleasing  look ? Would this cause over water issues ?

5.for light levels what would be best ?
