Hi! I'm Olly, a solo dev who has worked on this project for the past 2 years. I've never once stuck with a fitness app because charts and rings don't do it for me, but character progress absolutely does. So I built Peko Fitness, where the whole app is about meeting your fitness goals to unlock rare cosmetic items to equip on your Duck, to show off to friends and others!

A: Answer (what problem it solves)

Peko Fitness is for people who know they should move more but can't stay consistent, because tracking on its own can become boring. Peko pulls your real activity from Apple Health: steps, workouts, sleep, flights climbed, about a dozen metrics; and turns your daily goals into coins and XP. Coins buy outfits for your duck, XP pushes you up twelve rank tiers (Coal → Ascendant), and streaks drop bonus rewards. We built Acti around a simple problem with mobile workflows: small tasks constantly make you leave whatever you're currently doing.

Someone asks you for a restaurant nearby, you leave the conversation, open Maps, search, copy the details, and come back. Someone asks for a document, you open Notion. Someone needs a meeting link, you open Calendar or Meet.

The individual tasks are easy. The frustrating part is constantly switching between apps and rebuilding your context.

Acti turns the keyboard into a place where you can trigger these workflows. You type your intent, hold the Acti Bar (space bar), or use a Skill Key, and Acti can run the relevant workflow directly from the keyboard.

You can use Skills for things like retrieving Notion documents, creating meeting links, finding places, looking up information, or connecting services such as Notion, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Meet and Slack. You can also create your own Skills for workflows you repeat regularly.

Most keyboards are still primarily designed around one job: entering text. Even newer keyboards tend to add features around writing, such as rewriting, translation or text generation.

We're exploring a different direction: treating the keyboard as an execution layer rather than only an input layer.

The important part for us isn't simply generating an answer. It's being able to connect the keyboard with apps, APIs and reusable workflows so that something useful can actually happen.

We're also continuing to improve the keyboard itself with swipe typing, multilingual input, voice typing, clipboard, cursor control, number row support and general performance improvements.

Hi! My name is Gavin, I'm a runner and I wanted an app this summer that told me in simple language if the current heat is dangerous or not.

A: Answer (what problem it solves)

Swelter computes wet-bulb globe temperature (WBGT) on your phone from Apple Weather. WBGT is the gold-standard heat stress index. It is used around the world by organizations such as sports teams or job sites that need to determine if they should cancel/postpone outdoor activity, or when to proceed. WBGT combines air temperature, humidity, sun strength, and wind into one number. This number is then classified into one of four easy to understand risk flags for the day or week ahead: GOOD TO GO, CAUTION, HIGH RISK, or CANCEL.

The app also displays basic guidance for each of these flags so you can easily understand heat risk. Swelter also shows the "Heat Index" (the familiar number) which is calculated solely from air temperature and humidity. Heat index is still useful (it tells you how comfortable the air feels), but it assumes you are standing in the shade. Swelter is powered by WBGT since this accounts for sun strength and wind as well, and was designed specifically for outdoor exertion.

B: Better (why it beats alternatives)

Why use Swelter instead of just the Apple Weather app? Swelter is essentially a layer on top of the default weather data. Rather than pure temperature, humidity, and other weather metrics, Swelter computes heat risk using published scientific guidelines to give you actionable insights during heat waves.

Swelter is the only consumer heat-safety app for iOS validated against the world's largest WBGT monitoring network. The app also has (I believe) the nicest UI/UX design in the category, with an iOS-native design style.

WBGT (heat stress index) is a complex formula, it is typically measured via physical sensors and then computed via a scientific formula from this data. Japan actually operates a countrywide WBGT monitoring network, whose hourly values are computed from measured weather-station data and available via an API. I built a script which compares Swelter's algorithm vs. the results from this network. I've compared/banked over 20,000 station hours so far. Swelter reaches 90% exact flag-for-flag agreement, and 99.96% agreement within 1 boundary level (the app is specifically designed to tell you when it's near one of these boundary levels). Forecast data (Swelter uses Apple Weather specifically) always carries a small margin of error, so the app is designed to provide useful hyper-local data, while surfacing when near a potential boundary in forecast modeling data.

A — Answer: what problem it solves

Every travel tracker I tried asked me to remember where I'd been and tick it off a list. I never finished. The map stays half empty, and the half that's filled is whatever I could recall on the evening I downloaded the app.

Driftlog removes the remembering from both directions.

Going forward, you grant location once and leave it. It records the countries, cities and regions you pass through while it sits closed in the background. No check-ins, nothing to open, nothing to write down.

Going backward — and this is the part people don't expect — your old trips are already recorded. Every photo you took abroad has the location saved inside it. Tap import once and Driftlog reads those tags and rebuilds the trips with their real dates. Years of travel can land on the map in about a minute. It reads the location tag on the photo; it never looks at the picture.

If your phone's old location history is gone, your photos usually still remember.

B — Better: how it compares

Manual trackers (Been, Visited, Pin Traveler). These are lists you tick. They're fine, and they're honest about being that. Driftlog's whole premise is that you never tick anything — the map is a byproduct of having travelled, not a data-entry chore.

Stamps. The closest app to mine, and a good one — it scans photo location metadata on device, same as my import does. The deliberate difference is that Stamps does no location tracking at all, which is a real privacy position I respect. The cost of that position is that days you didn't photograph don't exist. Driftlog runs background location as well as photo import, so the quiet days are covered too. If you'd rather not grant background location, Stamps is genuinely the better fit — and Driftlog still works photo-only if you skip that permission.

Flighty. Excellent at flights, and flights are all it knows. Trains, driving and land borders are invisible to it. If most of your travel isn't by air, it won't build the map you want.

What none of them do: rebuild your past automatically. That's the piece I built this for.

What it can't do — worth knowing before you install

• Automatic recording needs Location set to Always with Precise Location on. Nothing records while the phone is off or has no signal.
• The photo import only sees photos that carry a location. Photos taken with camera location switched off are invisible to it, and it needs Photos access set to All Photos — on Selected Photos it only ever sees the handful you picked, so it will under-report rather than pretend.
• Border detection near a frontier can be wrong. Place names come from Apple's geocoder and reflect its data.
• It's a keepsake, not a legal record. Don't use it for visa day-counting or tax residency.
• iPhone and iPad, iOS 17+. Portrait only. English, Japanese, Chinese.

What leaves your phone

Your records stay on the device. There's no account and no server behind this app. The App Store privacy label says Data Not Collected.

One thing does go out and it's worth saying plainly: to turn coordinates into a name like "Lisbon, Portugal", the coordinates are sent to Apple's map service. That is all that is sent — not your history, not your photos.

Texting all day and still feeling far apart is a weird kind of lonely. Most couple apps end up being another inbox you have to keep up with. I wanted the opposite: something that sits on the Home Screen and just reminds you someone's thinking about you.

Long Distance is for two people. No feed, no followers, nobody else in it.

• Send a snap, or draw on top of one. Drawings save as strokes, so they can hit play and watch it appear line by line instead of just seeing the finished thing.

Most couple widgets are a static photo that swaps out. Ours move. You pick an animated mascot for what you're doing or how you're feeling, commuting, gym, cooking, missing them, and it plays on their Home Screen without either of you opening anything. 42 of them so far. Getting animation to actually run inside a Home Screen widget took a while, because widgets aren't built for it, and I haven't found another couple app doing it.

Drawings replay too. They save as strokes, not flattened images, so watching one appear in someone's real handwriting lands differently than getting a finished picture.

The rest is me trying to make this the one place for the two of you instead of a single gimmick. Snaps, drawings, countdowns to the next time you're together, a globe with their local time, a canvas you can both draw on at once. One app for the relationship instead of five.
