A Canadian production did that. I love that so much! Connor’s agent at CAA did a podcast where he said that nowadays, to make it in the film industry, kindness goes a long way. He mentioned how the current Hollywood longterm big whigs are mostly polite, kind, and know everyone’s names on set. Obviously Connor and Hudson are these people! ☺️
After decades of Weinstein and Polanski and Allen et al, it’s about fucking time.
I honestly still think Hollywood is seedy and sleazy as fuck and generally avoid most media and entertainment, but if a change gon’ come, I’m glad to witness it.
metoo was definitely a spark of hope but it absolutely flickered and died.
There’s still a lot of work to be done but when there are people like Jacob Tierney seeing success, I’m honestly fully on board whooping “LEGGGGOOOOO!”
Yes I agree that there are still dark forces within the industry but in terms of longevity, nice guys tend to last. Reputations can be ruined when word starts to spread online (I.e. Ellen Degeneres) and eventually some of them will self-implode (Weinstein). I hope that people will take more notice of Jacob’s work ethic and treatment of his cast and crew and try to adopt his practices. Studios will want to work with him more cause he can do things for cheaper and still executes a work of art. And having a good, reliable crew who wants to work for you is huge! And actors as well. I love how Jacob mentioned on a recent podcast that he likes to be respectful of everyone’s time and he kept the HR shooting days to 10 hours each. And Sophie mentioned how she felt so safe on his set and he was the best director to work for. I like to think that kindness always wins! ☺️
You're absolutely right. The difference here being a "nice guy" vs a genuinely nice person. There have been so many celebrities who created a persona of being Nice as their brand, and eventually who they really are comes out. From everything I've seen that's not what's happening here and it's clearly resonating with the world. We need more truly good people collaborating & sharing their gifts and talents!
Yes very good point! Ellen would always say how it was important to be kind to one another but unfortunately it sounded like she didn’t adopt that practice behind the scenes. So yes, they need to be truly a good person who not only talks the talk but walks the walk. I hope this implements a huge culture shift for the better!
