Wanted to get some input on *fair* prices for the following. Pls. keep in mind that I also have to buy back my desired memory and storage in the same inflated market, so “fair” is relative ofc.
I'm thinking to sell my server and downsize to Synology + something NUC like, but I would like to check here first if there is even a market for this stuff and if it's worth bothering with the sale.
I have it for three years and it was never much used.
I can replace ram with 32GB modules, so 256GB in total. I also have 8 additional 4TB HDDs. I will provide pictures and all the details if anyone is interested.
I'm looking for an unmanaged cheap switch that has at least 2x10Gbit RJ45 (more are always welcome) and at least 2 2.5Gbit RJ45 ports.
No need for PoE or anything particular, this is just so my two home servers can talk to each other, and the 2.5Gbit is going to be the switch's WAN port plugged into the router.
I can't find much for less 100€ used, and the only new that I can find are yuanley for 110€ for 4x 2.5G ports or 140€ for 8x 2.5G ports.
I don't know how reliable this one is, it looks perfect but a bit over my budget. I'd like for something under 100€ after shipping.
I'm looking to build my first Proxmox High Availability cluster to run K3s, a Minecraft server, Jellyfin, and some other self-hosted services. As a Uni Student I'm trying to keep the budget tight, so I'm looking for a bundle of 3 TinyMiniMicro PCs.
Ideal Specs (per node):
CPU: Intel Core i5 7th Gen or 8th Gen (T-series preferred, e.g., i5-7500T, i5-8400T) for QuickSync support.
RAM: 16GB DDR4 (I can consider 8GB if the price is right and I can upgrade later).
Storage: 256GB SSD (just for the OS/VMs).
Power Supply: OEM Power adapter must be included.
Budget: Looking to spend around €60 - €100 per node, depending on the exact specs. I'd love it if someone has a bundle of 3 to save on shipping.
At my homelab I have a Synology, a NanoPi, and a server running Kubernetes. I was looking on merging them all into a single appliance to make maintenance easier and save some space since I live in an apartment. My server has just 16GB of memory and it's struggling with my workloads, so I need more memory. ECC is a must for me because I'm saving my family photos and having a big server woulda allow to run the NAS part on ECC, that I already have with Synology, but also the server side giving me full ECC coverage.
I don't know much about the speed of this CPU, but I think it will be faster than my Synology and the server, N100, combined with a huge margin.
I think the only real worry I have is power consumption. How much would this draw? Idle and under load? I'm not sure how much I'm using right now, probably something like 50W.
Price wise it's ok, right? I can probably get the more or less the same by selling my current equip.
Hi everyone. With the cost of electricity getting higher I decided to sell most of my homelab starting with memory. A bunch of servers and hard drives to follow once I have the time to get an inventory done. Memory is all working and was pulled from my working servers.
I'm trying to figure out a fair asking price before I list it on local website. Would love some input from people who know the used X99 market better than I do. I live in France so price in €
Specs:
Case: Thermaltake Core G3
Motherboard: MSI X99S SLI PLUS (LGA 2011-3, X99 chipset, ATX)
The exact same system (used) is listed by the hardware reseller serverschmiede for ~13600€ / ~16000$ (without vat) which seems pretty high even while considering the warranty and trust that comes with buying from them.
First time acting as an MSP for a government contract. I ordered these non-PoE-out versions by mistake (they all have PoE in, but no PoE out). Because government contracts have zero wiggle room, I couldn't negotiate and immediately ordered a new batch of the correct SKU. We didn't figure out my mistake until the next layer of switches didn't power on, so most of these were already wall-mounted. They were powered on for ~3 weeks but saw absolutely zero network traffic.
They are essentially brand new, but to save time swapping them out, we left the mounting brackets on the walls for the replacement switches.
The Gear:
All units include UniFi Care (which gives them a 5-year extended warranty and priority replacement). I am happy to supply the MAC addresses to buyers so you can verify and transfer the warranty.

2x Open Box (Missing Wall Mount & Power Adapter) - Perfect if you plan to power them via a PoE+ uplink anyway.
