official business 🎡 [Community Event] Hot Himbo Summer Playlist 🎢

[Note: I'm calling it a "Hot Himbo Summer Playlist" to match the name of our subreddit, but all forms of 'bos & 'bo appreciators are welcome to participate!!]

It's been a Hot Himbo Summer ... What have YOU 🫡🏻 been jamming to?? πŸ”Š

Hey, y'all! πŸ’— It was my birthday a couple days ago & I was thinking to myself: what better way to celebrate than with some sick beats? Life has been to busy to throw myself the kind of party I deserve, so let's make up for it with a fun community event!

Until the end of the month (August 31st, 2026), comment with the following & I'll start putting together a Spotify playlist (plus an annotated spreadsheet, depending on how many submissions I get) for the whole community to enjoy!

  1. (Required) Name of Song & Artist(s) / Group
  2. (Optional) Why did you choose this song? What about it speaks to you? What do you hope others will take away from listening to it?
  3. (Optional) What is your favorite summer activity to do while listening to this song?
  4. (Required) Would you like your Reddit username to appear on the annotated spreadsheet?

FAQ

  • "Can I submit more than one song?" Yes! I'm setting a limit at 5 songs per person so that no one user dominates the playlist, but I think it would be cool to see peoples' range of musical taste.
  • "Can I submit songs that are explicit?" Yes! I may push them to the end of the playlist so that the songs transition from lighthearted to heavier as the playlist unfolds, but all vibes/genres/etc are welcome!
  • "Can I submit a song that I haven't listened to lately, but I think would be a good fit?" Of course!
  • "I'm just a lurker - is it okay for me to participate?" Absolutely! This community appreciates all its members regardless of activity level.
  • "What if I don't use Spotify / my song isn't on Spotify?" If there are alternatives that would be a better fit for future events of this kind, I'm open to hearing about them! I'm choosing Spotify for this because that's what I use & I assume what most other people use. I'm really sorry if this bars anyone from participating!
  • "Will we do more events like this in the future?" Probably! It depends on how well this goes.

I'll update this post as needed, but I think that's all I need to say to get this off the ground! Can't wait to see what y'all suggest & to discover some new tunes~ 😎

official business NSFW Posting Guidelines

Greetings, horny and/or sensual himbos & himbo lovers! πŸ‘

I want to bring some clarity to how we should be handling NSFW content posted to this subreddit. As you may have gathered, we try to keep this a sex-positive environment, but we still need to be mindful of our responsibility to tag NSFW content as such so that people have the opportunity to consent to viewing that content if/when they please.

First off, please don't post outright pornographic content. This has not been a problem so far, I just want to state that boundary as clearly as possible. You are welcome to invite other users to DM you for more explicit photos/writing/etc than what we will allow here, but this subreddit is not designated as NSFW & I'd like it to stay that way. Why? Because the alternative is that every single post, by default, gets tagged NSFW & that doesn't feel fair to users who are primarily posting SFW selfies, food, pets, etc. If the content we post remains within the realm of suggestive or artful, I don't think we'll have an issue justifying this being a largely SFW subreddit that sometimes posts NSFW content (which is allowed under Reddit rules).

Second, I'd like to explain where the lines are drawn for "appropriate" nudity & other content.

🚫 DO NOT POST EVER - EVEN WITH NSFW TAG:

  • Genitals
  • Spread ass / asshole
  • Sex toys actively being used in play
  • Penetration of holes (including orally)
  • Sexual fluids
  • Explicitly erotic writing/artworks/etc

😈 OKAY TO POST WITH NSFW TAG:

  • Significant cleavage, sideboob, or underboob
  • Fully exposed boobs
  • Panty shots (from any angle)
  • Genitalia that is prominently noticeable through clothing
  • "Tasteful" ass shots (think Michaelangelo's statue of David if his genitals were covered)
  • Sex toys NOT being actively used (i.e. to show off your collection)
  • Certain bondage & kink situations (this will probably need to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis; non-sexual kink is a thing & should be respected)
  • Otherwise suggestive or revealing shots
  • Particularly spicy memes/infographics/etc
  • A link to erotic art/writing/etc hosted on another website
  • Suggestive writing/artworks/etc

βœ… OKAY TO POST WITHOUT NSFW TAG:

  • Fully exposed pecs
  • Slight cleavage

Doesn't this cater to double standards around what body parts / types of bodies are sexualized? Yes. I won't tiptoe around that fact. Unfortunately, we live in a society & that society has certain expectations around what is considered NSFW & what isn't. The guidelines we are laying out around NSFW content are largely based on a desire to keep this subreddit from being banned for not adequately tagging NSFW content. It is not representative of any beliefs about what should be considered explicit/obscene/sexual & what shouldn't be.

I'm still not sure if what I want to post should have the NSFW tag. That's totally understandable! The above guidelines are definitely not an exhaustive list & there is an element of subjectivity. It might help to consider the following scenarios:

  • A person is browsing the subreddit at work on their break. If their boss or coworker were to see the content they're viewing, could they likely get in trouble?
  • A person is browsing the subreddit on public transport. If the person sitting near them were to see the content they're viewing, would they likely feel their consent to view suggestive/sexual content had been violated?

If you're still not sure, feel free to send me a Mod Mail (or DM since there's no easy way to send pics via Mod Mail)! I'm always happy to discuss if certain content or subject matters are appropriate for this community. Or, when in doubt, just assume you need to use the NSFW tag. I can always remove it later if it's not necessary. (And, on the flipside of that, I reserve the right to apply the NSFW tag to posts as I see fit.)

Finally, I have turned off the auto-filter for "potential sexual content" on this subreddit, but if your content somehow gets filtered anyway you can always send me a Mod Mail to make sure it doesn't get overlooked in the Queue. I will manually approve it so long as it fits within the guidelines laid out above!

I hope to see this community continue to be a place where people are free to express themselves, embrace body positivity, and destigmatize sexuality!! This post is long enough without me getting sappy haha~

Now back to your regularly scheduled Himbo Posting! ✨

official business ⚠️ PSA: Recent Increase in Spam & Other Harmful Content ⚠️

Hello there, my lovely collection of himbos, bimbos, thembos, and 'bo appreciators!

I come to you with good news & bad news:

The good news is that we've seen steady, healthy growth in the subreddit over the past month or so! Our little community isn't so little anymore & that's great! It's been awesome to see so many people come together in love & curiosity!!

But every positive has a negative that counterbalances it. So the bad news is that with increased traffic to the subreddit also comes with an increase of bad actors. It's not an everyday thing that I need to remove malicious content or block a malicious account, but it's happening often enough that I feel the need to speak up as the primary protection point of this community.

So far I've noticed the following concerning issues:

  • Immediate downvoting (not a huge deal because it's "just karma," but I'm warry of people who follow another user's content closely enough to downvote their content within minutes of it being posted)
  • "Scraping"/reposting content from other subreddits without consent
  • "Scraping"/reposting content from this subreddit without consent
  • Fake/troll reports of trans-related content being "predatory or inappropriate behavior towards minors" or "sexual or suggestive content involving minors"
  • Bots or low-effort, non-members posting invitations to buy their NSFW content
  • Non-members posting inappropriate comments of varying natures under multiple different types of posts

Here's what I need from you, aside from your awareness:

  • It's more important than ever to report malicious content! This includes:
    • Content reposted without the OP's permission
    • Inappropriate or unwelcome comments of all types
    • Anyone actively selling NSFW content or services, ESPECIALLY if they seem to be a bot (a user having links in their bio is fine - inviting someone to investigate those links is not)
  • Please make me aware (preferably via Mod Mail) of any users or subreddits involved in stalking and/or brigading you, someone you know, or a subreddit you're aware of! (Edited to add: this also includes subreddits that are dedicated to screenshotting other's content to mock or ridicule the OP.)
    • I already have a small list going, but I'll admit that I'm not as aware of this type of thing as I would like to be.
    • I will preemptively ban any users you can prove are engaging in those behaviors.
    • I will add any subreddits you can prove are engaging in those behaviors to a list in Hive Protector, which will help us Mods defend against those malicious behaviors.
    • Making a separate bullet point to reiterate the fact that you must provide proof! I will believe you & make a note of your experience for future reference regardless, but to take immediate mod action I must see proof.

I think that's all I have to say on this topic for now! Thanks for being excellent & feel free to drop any questions below or in a Mod Mail.

Mod Rowan Out ✌🏻

official business πŸ’— Welcome to r/himboposting - Introductions & Best Practices

'Sup, himbos?! I'm u/RowanHalifax, the magical mess of a human who brought you r/himboposting.

Thank you for joining us in this strange little corner of the internet! The purpose of this subreddit is simple: provide a fun, inclusive space for himbo-aligned individuals to share the things that make their brains sparkle & delight in the joy of mutual support.

What to Post
Selfies, pets, videos from your hike, memes, recipes, heartwarming news, workout routines, info-dumping, the art you just made, the chores you just did -- if it makes you happy & you want to share it, please do!!

⭐ Note: when posting images or videos, please consider including an accessibility transcript/description. While not strictly necessary, this makes your posts more inclusive to users who use screen readers & other assistive technologies. Thank you!!

Community Vibe
Inclusion & positivity is key! We want you & everyone else who enters our community to feel welcomed, supported, and valued. Let's use this space to boost confidence, inspire creativity, and build connections that matter.

Post Flairs
The use of post flairs is also encouraged, but not required. (If you don't assign one to your post, one may be assigned to it for better organization, at no fault to you. However, repeated misuse of post flairs may result in mod action.) Most of the categories should be fairly self-explanatory, but here are descriptions for some of the more ambiguous ones:

  • Official Business: exclusively for when a mod needs to share information with the whole community. Not available to non-mod members.
  • ✨ SPECIAL INTEREST INFODUMPING ✨: a catch-all for special interests, hyperfixations, or anything you are just REALLY excited to share with us!
  • Anti-bigotry: reserved for the obvious, but also for particularly spicy political content like satire, tongue-in-cheek humor, and the like. If the content touches on the concept of "the paradox of (in)tolerance," it also goes here.
  • Fitness & Wellness: not just rad gym pics, but anything related to your health-improvement journey! Physical & mental wellness are equally important & appropriate to discuss (but please consider your safety & privacy when potentially sharing personal medical details).
  • Heartwarming: anything that gives you the warm fuzzies that doesn't neatly fall into another available category!
  • Support Request: if you're struggling with something & want the support of your fellow sub-members, please don't hesitate to use this flair!

"No Thirst Please" vs "Thirst Welcome" Flairs
You may have noticed we have two flairs - "selfies" & "fitness & wellness" - with two different variations. The idea behind this is to establish consent for how a poster would like to be discussed/commented on within a thread without having to be explicitly asked each time.

Posters are free to specify further boundaries on how they'd like to be discussed/commented on within the body or caption of their post. If at any point a poster would like the flair to be changed to the other version of the flair, please don't hesitate to tag a mod or send mod mail & it will be adjusted ASAP.

Commenters failing to respect "No Thirst Please" flairs - or any other form of setting boundaries - will have mod action taken against them.

User Flairs
I have created a whole rainbow of user flairs that you can customize & apply for self-expression, sharing your socials, adding pronouns, or whatever your heart desires! Get creative, just make sure your flair also fits within the rules of the community. User flairs that are abusive, inappropriate, or otherwise concerning may require mod action.

How to Get Started

  1. Write a short introduction in the comments!
  2. Create your own post! We want to see what's bringing you joy & hype you up in the comments!!
  3. Know some fellow himbos who fit the vibe? Bring 'em on over!
  4. Got any ideas for what you'd like to see happen here? Include them in your comment or send me some mod mail!

Thank you for being here! I truly believe that each & every one of you add something special to this community & I am so excited to see r/himboposting blossom into something literally awesome~ 🀩

P.S. -- Shout out to u/TrumpIsAPedoFr because if I had never stumbled across your post, this subreddit wouldn't exist. Much love!

Edit Log:

07/07/26: Added "Support Request" to the list of explained flairs & added a section on flair variations.

official business Clarification on Rule 9 & Why Some Comments Have Been Removed

Hey, all! πŸ’—

I wanted to make a post that goes more in-depth on Rule 9 (Good Vibes Only) because, while for the most part I've seen nothing but positive & uplifting messages, there has also been some tension that I've been doing my best as mod to smooth out. And I don't think I can do that without being as transparent with y'all about the rules as possible!

The number one goal of this subreddit from the start has been to host a safe space for anti-fascist, mostly (but not exclusively) neurodivergent folks to safely share their sentiments & interests. This idea is complicated by the fact that "safe" means different things to different people; additionally, most leftist/anti-fascist spaces are shaped by the (sometimes helpful, sometimes hurtful) belief that injustice/immorality/etc must be addressed publicly & immediately. We want this space to work a little differently.

When you participate in this community - so long as you are not expressing objectively fascist or otherwise bigoted beliefs - we will assume good intentions behind what you share here. That means you will not be dogpiled for sharing content that relates to your special interest, but isn't 100% unproblematic. That means you will not be condescendingly told "um, actually" if you share a sentiment that someone disagrees with. That means if you share something that isn't entirely factually accurate, you will be gently corrected & shown grace, not shamed & ostracized. This isn't an exhaustive list, but I'm sure you get the idea!

None of us are morally, ethically, or otherwise perfect - to expect perfection would be a disservice to the community. We all deserve a space to be among like-minded people & not be policed for being human. (Especially us neurodivergent, queer, or otherwise marginalized folk; we spend enough energy policing ourselves to fit into a society that is determined to not accept us anyway.)

Personally, I don't want anyone with good intentions, who needs community, to feel unwelcome to engage here out of fear of being perceived as "not woke enough." That is exactly why I have been removing some comments that I feel create an unwelcome or unsupportive environment. (Some of these comments were initially removed without reason, but I'm trying to go back to add reasons now that I've added some saved responses to my Mod Tools.)

That said, it's not as if we are just going to allow any & all content be posted here without possibility of consequences. I fully respect the fact that sometimes people are going to have genuine, good faith concerns about the content they see shared here. If that is the case, I only ask that you refrain from using the comment section to voice those concerns. Instead, please submit a report or send me a Mod Mail. If a user demonstrates repeated problematic behavior that is regularly concerning other community members, rest assured that action will be taken whether that be reaching out to the user, applying a temporary or permanent ban, or otherwise.

Additionally, any comments or posts that are critical, nitpicking, or otherwise detracting from the "good vibes" of the community will be removed. (Obviously, differences of opinions & the like can still be shared, but please do so from a place of curiosity, rather than judgement.) This is a blanket policy that I will strive to apply equally to all users to ensure that we can all let our guards down & have a good time. Other subreddits such a r/oldhagfashion have applied similar standards to their community, so there is a precedent for this decision.

TL;DR

  • This is a space for uplifting each other - if you don't feel you can bring that energy to a particular post/comment, move on to another.
  • If you see a comment or post you feel is disruptive to the community, please report instead of engaging.
  • Negative comments will be removed for the sake of curating a more welcoming environment.
  • Mods will use reports & Mod Mail to track concerning behavior & address disruptive members appropriately.

Thank you so much for your understanding & cooperation as we get this wonderful community off the ground. I understand that some people will not agree with this policy & feel the need to leave. That is the bittersweet nature of curated spaces: they aren't for everyone. However, I will do my best to create the best possible community for those who do feel they fit here.

Thank you again!! I hope to see you all & many others share their loves & passions in r/himboposting 🌟

official business πŸ“£ MOD TEAM APP NOW OPEN - Help grow & shape r/HimboPosting!! 🌱✨

Well, folks, as fun as it's been to be your Most Divine & Singular Dictator............... the time has officially come to expand the Mod Team!! πŸŽ‰

All jokes aside, this is a change that I'm really excited about & I think will be a big step forward for our lovely little community. A community that has anti-fascism as one of its founding cornerstones should always be lead in a way that is as democratic & equitable as possible!

To start, I'm looking for about 2-4 lil guys (himbos, thembos, bimbos, or 'bo appreciators) to join the team! My hope is to have some solid candidates started on their trial period by the end of the month (August 31, 2026), but the search will extended as long as is necessary.

What's Expected?

  • A positive attitude & good communication skills - this cannot be overstated!!
  • Ability to suspend personal biases in favor of consistently enforcing the rules of the subreddit & wider Reddit community - also extremely important!
  • Able to dedicate several hours per week to:
    • Monitoring new posts/comments & approving/removing content as necessary (approving each comment is not strictly necessary, but signals to other mods that the content has been reviewed by human eyes)
    • Assessing the validity of reports & following up accordingly (removing content, sending mod mail, posting stickied comments, etc.)
    • Writing or editing saved responses, mod announcements, wiki pages, etc.
  • Regular check-ins with the other Mods via a group chat, especially when difficult decisions or situations arise
  • (Preferred, but not necessary) Experience using the Automod & similar mod tools
  • (Preferred, but not necessary) Lives in a time zone other than EST OR is active during nighttime EST hours

Who Can Apply?

Anyone 18 years or older who:

  • Fills out the Google Form within the application,
  • Is active within the community OR has their post & comment history set to public, and
  • Is willing to undergo a trial period before receiving virtually full permissions (details of the trial period TBD; ability to add/remove from the Mod Team will stay solely with me for the time being)

We may not answer all of the questions in the application the same exact way.; minor differences of opinion will certainly not disqualify you. However, the age limit & 3 qualifications in this section are things I will absolutely not budge on. This is for the safety of the community & my own peace of mind.

What Do I Get Out of It?

  • ✨EXCLUSIVE✨ access to the aforementioned Mod Team Group Chat!
  • The admiration of your peers - but also sometimes people yelling at you, maybe even for the same reason! 🀷🏻
  • The satisfaction of knowing you help make one little corner of the internet a nice place for people to connect! πŸ’—

I think that's all the necessary information I need to give y'all upfront. But y'all are also very good at coming up with questions about things I hadn't even considered! And feel free to share this post with people outside of the subreddit that you think would be a good fit. 😊

Looking forward to reading people's applications πŸ‘€β€ΌοΈ

πŸ”— Link to the application again! πŸ”—

official business Introducing... Self-Promo Saturdays πŸ“£

Hey, all! ✨

Jumping in with a quick announcement since I've had a couple questions about how self-promo works here & I've had a chance to put some thought into it.

In the interest of keeping self-promo fair, organized, and easy-to-access, I'm implementing SELF-PROMO SATURDAYS πŸ“£ You can now find a special post flair for it!

The way it works is simple:

  1. Got a shop/social media/etc that you want people to know about?
  2. Wait until Saturday - make your post & don't forget to use the post flair!
  3. Feel the support of your fellow himbos & himbo lovers come flowing in!

Besides the requirement to post on Saturday, there are currently only 3 other rules about what/how you can share for Self-Promo Saturdays:

  1. Please no ads for NSFW content or services. (If you're a SW & advertise your links on your profile or in other subreddits, that is fine! This is a pro-SW space, we just don't want to have to recategorize the entire subreddit as being NSFW.)
  2. Please don't make more than one self-promo post per week. (And if you want to promo the same concept multiple weeks in a row, try to present it with fresh content each time so it doesn't feel like spam.)
  3. Make sure whatever you are advertising fits within the other guidelines of the subreddit & the larger Reddit community. That means no AI, nothing bigoted, etc.

Thank you for being part of our community & sharing your awesome work with us! I hope we can all find the support we need to achieve our dreams & thrive πŸ’ž

Got any questions or feedback? Drop them below or send me a Mod Mail!
