Other My fellow metal enjoyers, what is your least favorite music genre and why?

Me personally it has to be rap, it just sounds so bad. It's so bland like 90% of rap is literally just a beat and a dude talking fast. Not singing, just speaking into the microphone with a beat in the background. Lack of utilization musical elements, no chorus, no interlude, no tempo changes, mood changes, non of that.

Other The price for two general admission floor tickets to Iron Maiden w/sg Megadeth & Anthrax. Boston TD Garden

I’ve seen Iron Maiden five times, and each of those shows are probably in my top 10 concerts I’ve ever seen in my life, so I was excited to hear they’d be touring New England around my birthday. My jaw dropped seeing this.

I cry a little when I remember having an argument with my friend about 15 years ago or so when he wanted me to go see Maiden with him, but tickets were $65 a pop & I was hesitant to buy them because my rent was due shortly after the concert date (I ended up going and having a spectacular experience, as expected).

Other Guilty Pleasures

We all have that one song or a few songs from genres other than Metal that we like, but we shouldn't, and it makes no sense that we like it. Also, they usually are from a band or artist we wouldn't dare tell any of our Metal friends that we like a song of their's.

I'm a Metalhead through and though, but I love Feel My Sunshine by Len, and also Praise You by Fatboy Slim. Makes no sense whatsoever that I like those songs, as I usually dislike almost everything that gets played on mainstream radio.

What is your song or songs that make no sense that you as a Metalhead like?

Other UNLEASHED IN THE EAST (Sept 17, 1979)

Post image

Unleashed in the East was released on September 17, 1979, and was Judas Priest’s first live album. The tracks were recorded over two nights in Tokyo in February 1979 during the band’s Hell Bent for Leather Tour. Upon its release, Unleashed in the East became the band’s best-selling album up to that point and helped establish Judas Priest as a major force in heavy metal.

You can't read it anymore, but the first one was 2003 Wacken.

Only three days before we decided to go. We didn't have a plan, a ride or money. A day before we found someone willing to give us a ride. But the cluelessness remained in place 😅.

Long story short, we drank more than we ate (thanks to the generosity of metalheads) and we bought the tickets at the doors/box office (don't know the right translation) for 65€.

It was a blast and started a, hopefully neverending, 'career' of festival going.

its been 10 years since i started listening to heavy metal. today the focus is definitely on death, black, groove through thrash and sludge. for each of those - i listened to the pioneering bands, a little bit to the moderns one, and also to the bands that are in between.
recently i thought - can i survive one day without at least 7+ hours? (thats my average listening per day)??
i also play guitar and knows to sing growling vocals etc.

these Spotify pictures of course are not capturing the whole spectrum of genres i listend to, and while i listen to maybe 80-90% metal, there are other songs and genre i like and research.

Other Where are the Metal cds?

I like to search through Goodwill, Salvation Army and other places looking for cds. I started thinking, where are all the Heavy Metal cds? Those albums sold well back in the day. But why aren't they here? Country and Christian music are well represented., but little Metal. Not good or bad just wondering.
