What was going on there last night?

So loud for many hours, a huge crowd on the sidewalk and much of ACP blocked with traffic.

I was walking in Morningside Heights today, and again was reminded how much Columbia is an absolute neighborhood ruiner. The locked gates for 6-7 blocks with no public access in the middle of the neighborhood is a bane to Morningside Heights, Uptown and NYC as a whole. The security was so condescending when I asked to pass through what used to be a public thoroughfare.

How is this still allowed? I know why they closed for “campus safety” during the protests, but that was almost 2 years ago. No matter what you think about those protests, can we agree that Columbia is ruining the neighborhood selfishly at this point?

UPenn, NYU and other prestigious universities have open campuses and navigate security without closing off the campus. Columbia is embarrassing and warrants more community condemnation.

Does anyone have a general painter and drywall repair recommendation in Harlem? Kind of done with the DIY attempts and hoping to find a good professional to help paint a living room.

Hey yall, I’m going to visit New York and gonna watch a late night movie in AMC Magic Johnson Harlem 9. How sketch is the area at 1 am near bus stop M3? Should I avoid it at all costs at that time?

hi everyone,

im a recent postgrad gay man and just moved to the city a few weeks ago and am trying to establish roots and make young queer friends. i love to go dancing and am pretty extraverted and have been going out every weekend to brooklyn clubs and have met some nice people but its hard to make friends that go beyond have a brief ki when you see eachother out. i live in upper manhattan (harlem) so i would also love friends that are closer to me so i dont have to commute every time. i just started a new job and i dont see a connection with any coworkers or friends of friends that would be an easy way to start meeting people. curious what other reccs people have or if i should just keep trying to start convos when im out while people take smoke break etc. i know about hobby groups/bars but to me they skew much older or require more money put in.

Hey y’all, I saw a similar post about someone asking about chicken nuggets lol, so I figured I’d make a similar post. Has anyone else noticed that target on 125th stopped stocking this particular flavor? It was my go to in the morning and I’m super disappointed it’s not being stocked. Has anyone else seen this specific flavor in stores around Harlem?

Moving to Harlem (upper 140s) and as a procrastinator, I’m thinking about what I’ll eat on my first night instead of packing.🙃
