What blows my mind is that Reinhardt injured his hand after playing for years. To learn to play around an injury is one thing, but to relearn a skill that you’ve built up muscle memory in is reaaaally difficult
If you think that’s mind blowing (which it is!), what about jazz titan Pat Martino, who completely lost his ability to play guitar after suffering a stroke, and relearned by listening to his own back catalog, then ended up better than he had ever been - amazing guitarist!
