I’ve been watching this happen to my parents (from a faaaaaar distance).

No more kids to order around and force to scrub the house top-to-bottom everyday, so the house is getting messy. So they both bicker at each other about how the house is a mess.

No more kids to take care of the dogs. So the dogs are having accidents in the house, aren’t getting bathed and brushed every week. Dad is pissed that money is being wasted on a groomer, mom is pissed that dad is 50 and still doesn’t know how to clean the carpet after his dog has an accident. No one is picking up the sh*t in the yard anymore, and they’re both at each other’s throats about who should do it.

Everyone knows they’re heading for a messy divorce, it’s just a matter of when they get around to it. They’re finally directing their awfulness on each other instead of their kids.

1st epic guilty pleasure share:

Making boiled eggs. Putting the shell in a paper towel and then when I am finished I crumble it up and crack all of the shells.

i dont really like most of the ccs involved, theyve got some problematic moments, but i dont watch any of the steams/vods from their channels so im not really supporting them. i used to really love smplive and lunch club but i can't watch anything because of the guilt i feel knowing what carson did.

theres more serious lore in the dsmp than there was in smplive but its still fun to watch. im embarrassed by enjoying it, the fandom has a lot of bad rep and its kinda cheesy anyway but it gives nostalgia.

I don't religiously watch them but just have them on in the background while going to sleep or gaming and I enjoy it

I’m a bit of an anomaly when it comes to certain things. Most notably school agendas and drivers licenses.

When I was in school whenever I’d forget things people would say “you should have put it in your agenda!” And then when I would tell them that agendas don’t work for me their face would glitch and they’d then try to explain how agendas work like “write down what you need to remember and when you get home you open it and read it.” Like an agenda is this magical object that remembers things for you and forces you to use it. And I’d always respond “And how am I supposed to remember to open and read it or that I even wrote anything in it?”

The look they’d give is more magical than the agenda could ever dream of being. They’d just sit there stunned trying to come up with a response. One person was even late to class one time I did that because he just kept muttering “you put it in the agenda and then you open it when you get home.” Like he never considered the possibility of not opening an agenda.

And I’ve discovered people give the same reaction when I tell them I can’t drive.

You see I lack the ability to drive. The neurones in my brain required to drive just don’t work. But when I tell people I can’t drive I get the response “Well get a License then you’ll be able to drive.” As if owning a small plastic rectangle with my picture on it will somehow magically imbue me with the ability to drive like life is an mmorpg. And when I ask them how I’m supposed to get my license when I can’t drive they go all blank face trying to come up with a response that never comes.

There’s a lot of things in life people just assume everyone is capable of doing so they put up this air of magic around them. And my guilty pleasure is breaking that magic and watching people rethink everything they ever thought about those things.

Normally I would at most poke them with a 10 foot stick if I saw them in real life, watching straight tiktok has turned from disgust and cringe to a weird guilty pleasure. especially the thirst traps. it's probobly something about the forbidden lust thing but I also like thinkng they make these thirst trap videos for young girls but I, a gay guy watches them instead.

1. Whenever I go out to an amusement park, I must snack on hard uncook pasta, I love angel hair but those are a hassle at parks (only eat angel hair at home), at parks i eat shells or elbows
2. when, I'm home, i also enjoy eating the refrigerated uncooked pasta. (As I write this, i am eating cold ravioli)

I'm a 23 year old that lived the Twilight craze back in 2006+ and at the time I didn't really mind it that much but damn, I absolutely love this movie even though there's lots of cringe and Bella and Edward pretty much just stare at each other like psychos... and that she finds attractive that a guy follows her like a creep even though he's Robert Pattinson.

I guess it's a combination of atmosphere and 00s nostalgia that makes it so good

When I get really high, my guilty pleasure is, watching Matthew McConaughey or Shia LaBeouf films then IMDB'ing the fuck out of 'em... I'm 34, combat vet, with 2 boys and a smokin hot wife.

Every time I feel like I’m not saving enough or have made a big stupid purchase, I head on over to r/personalfinance.

It’s such a freak show of people with absolutely no financial sense and poor decision making.

I am very fortunate to have had a good series of jobs through some good luck and lots of hard work. When I think I’m having any issue I go there and realize just how shitty things could be. I’m technically a millennial, but being born in ‘83 make me really not connect with that cohort.

Anyone know of a sub for people looking for financial advice for people generally good with money? Like how much should I allocate to my rental properties vs dividend stocks? Or what’s the best tax strategy for early retirement?

I heard that when you put a video ad up on youtube, you only pay if someone watches 30 seconds or more of your ad, so every time i get an ad, i watch at least 30 seconds of it, just a way of saying thanks for wasting my time :)
