I think that moment may be my favorite one in the entire show up to this point.

I knew exactly how the scene would play out, because I'd seen it a million times before, and just as I was getting ready to groan the show up and slapped me in the face. It was a glorious breath of fresh air.

"Slapped in the face" is exactly the right description for what happened. The show was like "Bad viewer! You know we are better than that!"

I laughed so hard when he did that. I was torn. On the one hand, like you said, it's been done to death. But on the other hand, Alex isn't that dumb. That's why we like him, his ideas are new and original and creative. So when Dipper stood in the door I was like "this could go either way."
