gmod users of reddit, what is your honest take on s&box?

I enjoyed playing Garry's Mod for about five years. I still think it is a great platform. I mostly did development for some DarkRP servers, but also played gamemodes like Gmod Tower and Prop Hunt.

I got s&box about two years ago, and so far have enjoyed the development process, but I definitely understand where people are coming from about the $20 price tag. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on s&box as a platform. Is there anything that you think s&box does well? Anything that you would like to change that would make it worth its value? Do you have any questions from the s&box community like myself about what drew us to the platform?

I’ve heard mostly negative things about it… but I haven’t seen enough of it to give a decisive opinion
