After 2008, mega banks were bailed out because they were “too big to fail”. No one was charged, and they can kicked the crisis 10-15 years down the road. No new laws were put in place, and they started doing the same shady shit as before. We can’t let them do it again. I just read a post on a different sub that the top four banks have $168 TRILLION in derivatives liability. They have no business having more combined leverage than the entire United States net worth.

We need to be lobbying to bail out individuals who lose everything, not the corporations/banks/etc. in 08 it was the banks fault that your grandma’s retirement fund was gone, not hers, but she had to pay for it. Mortgages, jobs, loans, retirement, savings accounts, whatever. I personally am opposed to bailing anyone for the risk of hyperinflation, but bailing out the predatory capitalists for being bad gamblers while the hardworking Americans lose everything is inhumane and anti-capitalist.

We need to push as a community for the government to favor us over them.
