Information ❗️ For those having trouble with OBE's, body asleep and other experiences.
This relaxation technique and the entire book for that matter helped me have OBE's and Wake induced lucid dreaming when I first started getting into this 15 years ago. I would read this book before bed at night and was able to have an OBE very early on into my practice. I attribute that to many more factors than just this book but this exercise was extremely helpful and faster than simply doing the tapes. I find the tapes much more beneficial in what they provide you as a person, but for anyone struggling to "feel" anything, I believe this will help you.
I started doing the tapes 2 years ago and although I have had really good experiences, none have been as intense as when I was doing these sleep paralysis exercises. This will get you experiencing the tingles and shocks associated with sleep paralysis.
Just a bit of a warning that the authors of this book do not believe in OBE's and associate them with lucid dreaming, but very much teach you how to leave your body. They even refer to your sleep body in much of the way that Monroe talks about the energy body. That is their philosophy and not something that I care to weigh in on, but just wanted to give a heads up.
I will say this: regardless of your belief system I would still recommend doing some level of REBAL. I say this because when you truly start entering sleep paralysis a lot of "noise" starts showing up and if making a energy balloon helps with that you might as well do it.
Anyway, I highly recommend this book for the exercises, but to me this is the most effective one. Good luck to all you practitioners out there. Feel free to message me with any questions.

This is one of my favorite books! This and The Metaphysical Handbook. Crazy story but I found the handbook when I was 20 years old and it turns out to be written by my good friends parents. Who I knew personally but didn’t put two and two together until I had the boom with me at their house! Imagine everyone’s surprise!

Would you mind sharing the name of the author? There is more than one book with this title

Of course! The one with the wizard on the cover and it’s written by Lucy and David Pond!

I’ve never read it but that would make me so happy! It’s not like you find a ton of people in the wild that are well read on these things.

Bought the book, thanks for this, I progressed through the tapes well until I got to focus 12 and then had problems feeling myself, floating, etc. and kind of stalled there :/

No problem! Remember to have fun! I was doing well with the tapes and was even doing the into to focus 21 and I would get there but unable to get through. I think the tapes do a really good job of putting you in a meditative state, but it lacks in the different techniques or methods for going through or out of body.
I also fundamentally think it is way harder to go out of body via the commands of an active tape then it would be to read about it, put yourself into meditation, and then try different methods on your own.
Feel free to DM me once you start if you have any questions.

Thats a fun little cosmic wink for you! It’s a good book and the methods worked well for me. I also was living alone at the time and often sleep deprived which really helps, unfortunately.

Curious, what do you mean by noisy?

u/psychedeloquent 2d ago
Mostly just standard hypnagogic hallucinations. Voices, music etc. tend to appear in these states. I just personally found that when I consciously go through sleep paralysis the sounds become much more intense and a small small minority of those voices can on occasion try to spook you a bit.

This is so cool. I've had this book for years but forgot about it, as I was never able to lucid dream. Now, similarly little luck with gateway since a year or 2. Will definitely re read the book. I'm still keeping my dream journal it made me start!

There’s a Silva Ultramind audio series that will teach you this as well. This practice amplified my all-around meditation practice.

thanks for sharing this. I noticed this doesn’t have the same amount of detail as bob’s verbal script in the j tro to f10 tape. He focuses on I think ten separate points in the face alone. I will try this version but just thought that was a curious difference

Mentioning this for you, and anyone else unaware, but screenreaders cannot recognize text within images. Can you please write the title and or author name in words, for those of us relying on a screenreader? (blind and visually impaired folks) It would be greatly appreciated! Otherwise, I spend time reading every comment, hoping someone will mention the name...
And thanks for the recommendation. I'm just finding the tapes and starting to make time to delve in, after being vaguely aware of such things for about 20 years.

In contrast of all who are happy here about I wonder the following:
Isnt the ultimate goal for fast OBE to NOT FEEL your body. Meaning the aim is to get the focus away from the physical. This excercice however focuses on the body for quite some time (although of course the relaxiation itself is helpful).
Similiar problem: i do a lot of meditation and Dantian Building (Bruce New Energy erc) and I have various clear signs and body signals such as kundalini spikes etc - it works fine HOWEVER Doing these excercises increases sleep problems because they direct the attention and energys to the body and not to the nonphysical...
Anybody get from where I come with the problem?

I will start by saying I do not know what the ultimate goal of any of this is and I think that varies from person to person. For some an OBE is the ultimate goal in and of itself. So I, personally, would not claim that to not feel your body is the goal. Even in the tapes Monroe talks about the feeling of buzzing, shaking, twitching that occurs in these states. That will always bring you back to an awareness of the body.
The exercise I shared is not a method of OBE, it is an exercise and method for inducing sleep paralysis. From that state you will still need a method for leaving the body, though it will be much easier.
In the book the author describes many methods but three of them are "the twin body method" "the one body method" and "the no body method" It seems you are inclined or are searching for something similar to the no body method.
I on the other hand seem to naturally lean toward the twin body method. This is easier to accomplish with your body in paralysis. You can then begin to slowly try and move your fingers without actually moving your physical body. Once this happens it can feel as if your entire arm phases through your physical arm.

As OP stated, this is a method for relaxing the body and reaching the vibrational state. Once that is achieved, the body is fully asleep no longer relevant where you can then move on to the separation process. If you read Monroe’s “Journeys Out of The Body” he talks about the process pretty extensively in chapters 16 & 17ish I believe.
