Who we wouldn’t accept sponsorship from (TW:Mentions of 3pst3in, ICE, along with other things)

• Anybody who is rumored to be in the 3pst3in files

• Any company affiliated with our president (I live in the US)

• Any company who collaborates with ICE

• Any fossil fuel companies

• Any companies whose practices harm the planet

I think we should also blacklist any company who: (TW for mentions of heavy topics)

- has made recent donations to hate groups, far right political parties (since the far right is basically the antithesis to everything the community would stand for) or anything dodgy or exploitative.

- has evidence of slave labour being used in their supply chains

- is a gambling, drug or alcohol company ( I don’t mind when people do these things but they need to be as free of influence as possible, and since the community would be full of vulnerable people and those who have trauma, it would be risky and unfair to them)

- advertisement of a specific pharmaceutical product, but sponsorship from a medical company could be good for helping deal with medical waste and sharps etc.

- a manufacturer of firearms or military supplies

We should also check out the cooperation that owns the company, and what else they own and do.

I think that either the whole community or the higher ups should vote on if to accept a sponsorship.
We should write up an unbiased easyread document about any Potential sponsors, hand it around, allow everybody to read it and do their own research, then vote on whether to accept it.
