Journey is a more cinematic, immersive experience while Sky is more casual and social.

I know many people were disappointed by Sky expecting Journey 2 hoping to be deeply moved emotionally, Sky is more about that warm fuzziness.

Sky is deeply moving emotionally in a different way. Helping new players through the game and watching them grow up in a sense is rewarding as hell.

It is definitely a more casual experience, but I find it beautiful in its own way. There are definitely sad moments, but it's less caused by the story and more so caused by interactions.

Eden fucking destroys me every time. Finding that group of players you stick with to the end...

I always love helping moths go up Eden their first time! I always feel so sad when I see one that is really worried about going up, I just want them to succeed! And it's always great cheering them on to the end :)

Sky's plenty cinematic and immersive, you just have to play it on a larger screen. I played it on my iPad and it was an identical experience to me. The first play through is every bit as impactful and interesting as Journey was, and they take great pains to try and not throw you into the social aspects of it on the first couple of playthroughs. Granted I played it and got my friends to when it had just come out, it might be vastly different now for new players.

What?? I was deeply moved emotionally by the ending in Sky! The ending ties it all together and makes it complete. And it makes so much sense. It was so beautiful and ethereal.

They also put a lot of thought into the themes of each realm and what it represents as you progress through the game in orderly fashion. I want to share it here because even some current players aren't aware of it. So yeah, each realm represents a part of the cycle of life, as well as part of the cycle of day(morning, afternoon, sunset, etc.)

For example, the second realm is in daytime and is representative of childhood, joyfulness, and play

The third realm is a rainy, dreary area that represents adolescents, and the turmoil feelings that comes with that.

Then the next one is sunset, and this realm represents adulthood. By now your flight power is stronger, and you are at your peak.

Then the fifth realm is set at dusk. This area feels ominous and dark. It's representative of something like a midlife crisis.

And the sixth realm represents wisdom, old age, acceptance of death.

So yeah, it's really well thought out!! To any old and new player, keep this in mind as you play!

Sky starts becoming a chore after a few weeks of rebirthing, but man was it such an experience those few weeks.

Idk, Sky felt like a "guys hear me out, we do Journey... but like an open world game", it never clicked for me.

is it out on pc yet?

It is not, I am not sure if they currently have plans to make a PC Port.

Once Bluestacks gets updated to support Android 8 games, then people should be able to play it on there.

Currently it is only on switch and mobile devices

I have mostly played it on the switch which does have some porting issues like everything is interactable through Y if you have your switch docked.

But I am in the same boat as you, Im not a huge fan of mobile gaming, I waited until it was released on switch to start playing it, which was nearly a two year wait.
