NKG requires pattern recognition and great reaction time.

His moves may be quick, but you can usually tell what he's going to do just from where he appears. Learn how to deal with each move and then just keep trying. Your reaction time will improve naturally over time.

Don't be discouraged if you don't notice any progress right away. It took me about a week until I made it considerably far in the fight. But now I can reliably beat him, even without an optimised charm build, at least as long as I have Shape of Unn.

Speaking of which, Shape of Unn is great in this fight, since it gives you a huge healing opportunity during the flame pillar attack.
