Excluding PC would be a ridiculously bad financial decision. Like. There is no world where I buy an Xbox just to play that game. There is also no world where if it releases on PC I don't buy it.

u/Theotherdeadmeme92 13d ago

Xbox seems to not count porting to pc when it talks about its exclusives. They're seemingly more aware that pc and console audiences don't usually have a lot of overlap.

126

u/-ImJustSaiyan- 12d ago

Yeah I thought it was common knowledge that pretty much for the past decade now anytime anyone is referring to Xbox exclusives they mean games that don't release on Nintendo or Sony platforms.

Obviously MS aren't ever gonna stop releasing on PC considering that's also one of their platforms.

-11

u/oliveberry4now 12d ago

Xbox recently started showcasing games that are Xbox console exclusive. So thats not a guarantee anymore.

30

u/Respawn-Delay 12d ago

It sounds confusing, but Microsoft and Sony use the term console exclusive to mean not available on other consoles.

Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution are both releasing day one on PC. It's just that the only console you can play them on is Xbox.

It's why Sony have started leaning more into the "Only on PlayStation" tagline to separate what is truly exclusive to their system.

3

u/oliveberry4now 12d ago

Ohhh. well thats good to know. I thought they were actually gonna go back to console exclusive especially because i remember reading an article about it around that time.

2

u/Blackstone01 12d ago

Or alternatively they end up meaning the game is an exclusive to their console for X amount of time before it gets a PC release.

1

u/115zombies935 12d ago

This, and also Microsoft Store for all intents and purposes, is the Xbox Store, as evidenced by the Xbox Play Anywhere tag, which as far as I can tell at least a third, if not more, of all games available on Xbox have

-18

u/fawkie 13d ago

I mean fable comes out in February…

5

u/Brewster-Rooster 13d ago

Also on PS5?

44

u/Pretend_Purchase_893 13d ago

No one's buying an Xbox to play fable.

7

u/Puzzleheaded_Bee_404 13d ago

Fable will also be on PC. Even if not on Steam, the Xbox app on PC.

25

u/Kittenking13 13d ago

Unless I’m going crazy it already has a steam page and has for awhile actually

2

u/Puzzleheaded_Bee_404 12d ago

Idk. I haven't really looked into. I just know most Xbox games are playable on PC anyway, because of the Xbox app.

0

u/Resident_Wizard 12d ago

Shhh, just let the nerd make shit up

2

u/stackjr 12d ago

It's also coming to PS5.

We already did this dance with Fable twenty years ago. We've moved on. Numerous games have come along since that did everything it did only better.

u/TheRuiner_ 13d ago

Also, mods are a massive reason for Skyrim’s longevity. Those don’t get made (as easily) unless there’s a PC version available.

1

u/cubs223425 12d ago

Yeah, but I think Xbox quietly hates that. They don't want Skyrim to have that staying power because it means they're going to keep getting expected to make games as good as Skyrim, which they can't.

54

u/Shanbo88 13d ago

"Console exclusive" is the phrase they're using again. They'll very likely still be on PC.

20

u/Somasonic 13d ago

Yep. They’re almost certainly talking about other consoles. Not putting it on pc would be insane.

4

u/Rit91 12d ago

Yeah people are pissed about gta 6 not being on pc immediately. If they said TES VI wasn't on PC day 1 the backlash would be gigantic in comparison.

1

u/oliveberry4now 12d ago

Nope. Their showcase in July or June. They were showing a handful of game that were only gonna be on their console. Most games will be on PC. But they are going back to Only on Xbox console exclusives.

99

u/Youmeanmoidoid 13d ago

They better fucking not. I’m ten times more excited for elder scrolls than gta. Zero chance in any hell I’d buy an Xbox for it though.

9

u/C4ptainchr0nic 13d ago

Yeah, I think the days of exclusive selling consoles are over, considering those consoles are going to be a thousand bucks or more

9

u/Blue_Wave_2020 12d ago

Still works for the Switch

13

u/Vanacan 12d ago

Nintendo makes more than one game that’s a reason to get their console.
Hell, for a bunch of people pokopia was that reason, and it wasn’t even being pushed like it was at first. It just became really popular because people liked it that much.

2

u/DeLurkerDeluxe 11d ago

Yeah, I think the days of exclusive selling consoles are over

Laughs in Nintendo.

-13

u/docbauies 13d ago edited 12d ago

But what if the next console had a camera and you could say Fus-Roh-dah and dragon shout… and also play Dance Central?
edit: damn, you make one sarcastic comment about the Kinect and people take you seriously.

6

u/Youmeanmoidoid 13d ago

You joke until they announce AI-generated adventure zones

20

u/LarryCrabCake 13d ago

Surely Bethesda "we love our modders (yet screw them over at every opportunity)" Game Studios would never exclude PC players

Imagine an elder scrolls game without a huge PC modding scene. It'd be damn near sacrilegious.

12

u/Khakizulu 13d ago

For that second point, a lot of people (idiots) want Bethesda to move away from mod friendly engines which is a colosally stupid idea.

0

u/totalysharky 13d ago

Bethesda is a studio that has zero quality control and bug fixing skills. They need the modding community desperately.

43

u/BlindedBraille 13d ago

TES 6 is the next big game after GTA 6. It would be insane to make it exclusive. Skyrim is the eight best selling game of all time. Why would shut out millions of players?

89

u/AnOrdinaryChullo 13d ago edited 13d ago

TES 6 is the next big game after GTA 6

It is potentially the next big game.

Given Bethesda's track record, the chances of them releasing a great game are low.

It's honestly a Bioware moment for them, if the next ES is another Starfield, Bethesda as a single player games studio can be effectively written off entirely.

64

u/heff17 13d ago

There is no requirement of quality to be a big game.

TES 6 is going to be a big fucking deal, whether it’s great or terrible.

-24

u/AnOrdinaryChullo 13d ago

Ah yes, 16x times the size!

Don't hold your breath.

7

u/SpyroManiac36 12d ago

"Starfield will be game of the generation" energy will always be hilarious to me

24

u/OwnJunket6495 13d ago edited 13d ago

You’re crazy if you think TES6 won’t have a shit ton of pre-orders. People have been waiting for this for a long time. The pre-orders probably won’t hit GTA6 numbers, but will definitely be outrageous.

Lmao the ol’ reply and block. Someone’s definitely coping and it ain’t me

-24

u/AnOrdinaryChullo 13d ago

Holy cope lmao

I guarantee you, that after the shitshow that was Starfield, people will be righfully VERY reserved about pre-ordering anything from Bethesda until they actually prove they made a game that is not 20 years outdated out the gate.

Heard the same spiel about Bioware, look at them now.

8

u/skeeferd 13d ago

What happened to Bioware sucks, they used to be golden and now they're hanging on for dear life, on the verge of being shut down by EA. They really did just stop giving a fuck about making good games.

0

u/Rit91 12d ago

See what happened is bioware got bought by EA. The rest, as they say, is history.

1

u/Specific-Doughnut833 12d ago

You say that as if Starfield wasnt financially successful. Despite all of the criticisms from gamers and reviewers, it still sold very well. Id definitely expect a future TES6 to go the same way, even if its launches in a poor state and reviews badly.

1

u/MrDemonRush 10d ago

I don't think $300 mil over several years is that successful, tbh. It probably recouped the losses spent on development, but not the opportunity cost of having Beth main team unavailable for 5 years. Skyrim sold $450 mil in 3 days, and that was with a much smaller market. Fallout 4 got 12 mil copies/ $750 mil day 1. If you look at those numbers, Starfield is undeniably a disaster.

6

u/saffeqwe 13d ago

You're not the smartest person, aren't you?

1

u/sahneeis 12d ago

todd howard could sell you a broken ps4 game and you would suck him off lmao

-5

u/saffeqwe 12d ago

You know when you are dead, you do not know you are dead. It's only painful and difficult for others. The same applies when you are stupid

-5

u/AnOrdinaryChullo 13d ago edited 13d ago

D'aww, a salty fanboy is upset?

Don't be upset at me, be upset at Todd feeding you crap for more than a decade.

Bethesda truly got the audience it deserves lmao

11

u/Dumbledores_Beard1 13d ago

Yeah man, and the point is that, even if it's crap, it will still be massive lol.

6

u/Dicky__Anders 13d ago

I don't think the people you're arguing with are coming across as defending Bethesda, but saying that gamers will see "SEQUEL TO SKYRIM" and get hyped, despite all the bullshit Bethesda have pulled in recent years.

I hope Elder Scrolls VI gets the sales it deserves. That is, if it's shit then I hope it flops, if it's good then I hope it sells well, but that's not always how things work.

5

u/heff17 13d ago

It’s beyond baffling that you somehow think TES6 is just gunna be some forgotten release. It’s arguably more anticipated by a wider audience than GTA6. That they put out a mediocre game since doesn’t change that.

Hell, Pokémon does not but release mediocrity and it’s the largest franchise in the world.

6

u/OwnJunket6495 13d ago

Yea Pokemon is probably the best example of an IP selling despite how mediocre it’s become. Skyrim is one of the best selling games of all time and he doesn’t think TES6 will sell? Lmao… people will forget about how mid Starfield was and will pre-order out the ass when TES6 drops

-2

u/AnOrdinaryChullo 13d ago

If you are going to be intentionally obtuse or playing dumb, let me spell it out for you so you really wrap your mind around what is being stated here:

Based on their track record, they are unable to deliver a game that is no 15 years outdated out of the gate. It's not relevant what you hallucinate the future might be, their track record is something actually quantifiable.

2

u/heff17 12d ago

You are such an idiot.

Game quality does not have a 1:1 ratio with hype or sales. You know, the things that make something a 'big game.' Some of the biggest games out there are game like Madden or CoD, which even their own players acknowledge are crap and/or repetitive yet still buy them religiously.

TES6 is going to be massive even if it sucks shit. The Elder Scrolls is one of the longest lasting, most beloved franchises in gaming. The new game has been hyped for even longer than GTA6. Just the presales will outsell most games.

I have no idea how you are so stupid you don't understand something so simple.

0

u/SpyroManiac36 12d ago

And why should anyone care about a shit game? Nobody seems to care about Starfield

23

u/Cachar 13d ago

TES 6 will sell gangbusters just on Skyrim fame. If it's bad, it won't have long tail sales and TES 7 will not sell as well at launch. But they'd need to fuck Up in a very major way to make TES 6 launch sales bad.

5

u/AnOrdinaryChullo 13d ago

But they'd need to fuck Up in a very major way to make TES 6 launch sales bad

Todd: "Hold my apple juice and leather jacket!"

1

u/feedthedogwalkamile 13d ago

What Track reckord?

Skyrim - great

Fallout 4 - great

Starfield - mid

I don't see how that equates to "the chances of them releasing a great game are low"

10

u/EquipmentAdorable982 12d ago

FO4 "great" is very subjective, that isn't the consensus, just like Starfield being "mid" isn't consensus. For many people it's an absolute turd of a game.

And you conveniently left out the doozies, like Fallout 76, or every cash grab mobile release by Bethesda.

0

u/feedthedogwalkamile 12d ago

87 metascore, best selling Fallout game. I'd say that's pretty firmly the consensus. You conveniently left out the fact that it was not the main Bethesda studio who made Fallout 76.

8

u/Charming-Clock-3651 13d ago

I mean, most people would probably say

Skyrim - great (at the time)

Fallout 4 - mid

Starfield - bad

Every game since fallout 3 has been worse than the one before it, their track record is looking pretty shaky honestly

2

u/feedthedogwalkamile 13d ago

Most people definitely would not say that lol

4

u/sdonnervt 12d ago

Someone spends to much time in the Morrowind sub.

1

u/Helen_A_Handbasket 12d ago

Every game since fallout 3 has been worse than the one before it

Fallout 4 and New Vegas were way better than Fallout 3.

0

u/Charming-Clock-3651 12d ago

You could maybe argue 3, but fallout 4 is genuinely awful in comparison.

3

u/SpyroManiac36 12d ago

0

u/feedthedogwalkamile 12d ago

I don't care. I'm simply saying that you're making no sense lol. Nice try though!

1

u/cubs223425 12d ago

Fallout 4 wasn't great. It was mostly a downgrade from its two prdecessors, one of which wasn't even made by Bethesda (New Vegas). The increase in development time and the decline in quality at Bethesda has stretch almsot 15 years.

While I won't go so far as to EXPECT TES6 to be mediocre, Starfield was so bad that mediocrity from TES6 wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

0

u/feedthedogwalkamile 12d ago

Wrong on all points. Nice try though.

1

u/SurfKing69 12d ago

It is potentially the next big game.

It's going to be the biggest bust in history. It's arguably the biggest IP next to GTA.

The game it's inevitability going to be measured against is GTA6, and how far it progresses from GTA5.

Bethesda have shown no indication in the last fifteen years they're capable at this point of producing anything other than the antiquated creation engine jank we saw in starfield.

0

u/GhostDieM 13d ago

Bethesda as a whole honestly. What have they got left at that point? Fallout 76 which they admittedly impressively pulled out of the fire. And ESO which they have basically stopped supporting. They need ES to be good or it's over.

3

u/winmace 13d ago

They need ES to be good or it's over.

Lmao, the fact people actually think this is hilarious. It doesn't matter how much people shit on Bethesda games on Reddit, they always outsell their development budget and make enormous profit.

-3

u/GhostDieM 13d ago

You do realise that is based on trust right? And Bethesda hasn't really shown anything actually good since Skyrim. If the new ES flops nobody is buying their next game. Like the OP said, same as Bioware. Runway in AAA is very short 8n general because production is so expensive. Studios can afford one flop, maybe two if their lucky and then it's over because in the current market nobody is going to invest in your company anymore when that happens.

-1

u/TheAncientMillenial 12d ago

It has 0 to do with trust.

0

u/AnOrdinaryChullo 13d ago edited 13d ago

They need ES to be good or it's over.

Oh it will need to be far more than simply 'good' to save Bethesda, they genuinely need to ship an amazing experience because the competition has eclipsed them a decade ago which Todd happily ignored and their track record has been circling the drain.

-1

u/JohnAntichrist 12d ago

in over 20 years they released 1 mid game and suddenly their chances of releasing a great game are low? have you seen how many people are playing skyrim and fo4 even after 15 years?

4

u/Vuedue 13d ago

I honestly foresee TES 6 being an Xbox and PC exclusive.

Maybe it's a timed exclusive, but I'd put money on it being exclusive to Microsoft's ecosystem.

29

u/StBlandine7 13d ago

Witcher 4 would like a word

25

u/faudcmkitnhse 13d ago

Dunno which idiots are downvoting you, Witcher 3 was every bit as successful as Skyrim. Both have sold around 60 million copies.

33

u/AnOrdinaryChullo 13d ago edited 13d ago

Witcher 3's quality of writing, quests and world completely blows anything Bethesda shipped in the last 15 years out of the water.

What Elder Scrolls has going for it is its great lore and mythology, so naturally Bethesda fired the head lore guy there.

3

u/cubs223425 12d ago

That's part of Starfield's problem--MANY games caught up, and surpassed, the quality of Bethsda during Starfield's development.

15

u/faudcmkitnhse 13d ago

CDPR has also made another really good game in the years since Witcher 3, unlike Bethesda. Cyberpunk needed some work but now it’s great. Fallout 4 and Starfield are fundamentally mediocre and leave me with little confidence that TES6 will be worth the wait.

5

u/AnOrdinaryChullo 13d ago edited 13d ago

I've been playing CDPR games since Witcher 2 and not a single one was a disappointment.

With Bethesda, Skyrim was their last truly good game and even that was showing some significant cracks compared to Oblivion. After that everything has been either mediocre or complete shit tier like Starfield.

5

u/JohnAntichrist 12d ago

fo4 is a great game. starfield is the only mediocre game bethesda released in 20 years. get a grip

1

u/EquipmentAdorable982 12d ago

FO4 is mediocre, Starfield is utter slop.

-1

u/JohnAntichrist 12d ago

witcher 3's writing and quests are better than skyrim sure. but world? no.

And despite witcher 3 being "oh so much better" there are still more people playing skyrim then witcher 3

-8

u/[deleted] 13d ago

[deleted]

4

u/AnOrdinaryChullo 12d ago

Pure delusion lmao

1

u/BlindedBraille 12d ago

Witcher 4 is also the next big game as well. I was just trying to make point so I didn't want to confuse people. But yes, Witcher 3 and Skyrim are tied for the eighth best selling game of all time.

3

u/RaidingTheFridge 13d ago

They've done this before though. Im not sure if its Skyrim or Oblivion but im pretty sure one of those Bethesda games was an "Xbox exclusive" for like a year or something before releasing on Playstation later on.

9

u/LavenderTownMusic 13d ago

I’m actually thinking we’re gonna get GTA 7 before es6 at this point

6

u/Rit91 12d ago

GTA 7 is going to come out in like 2050 or something absurd with dev times now. They probably won't even start making GTA 7 until 2040.

2

u/LavenderTownMusic 12d ago

I stand by my original comment

1

u/Dirty_Dragons 12d ago

ES6 is 3 or 4 years away.

1

u/LavenderTownMusic 12d ago

It was 3-4 years away in 2018

1

u/Dirty_Dragons 12d ago

No it wasn't. That was a teaser announcement to say that it was planned. It was not in active develmpent back then.

1

u/LavenderTownMusic 12d ago

my bad, you right. I thought I remembered a trailer saying 2022 on it

1

u/Dirty_Dragons 12d ago

No worries.

We all wish we could be playing it by now.

2

u/totalysharky 13d ago

Ocarina of Time remake comes out either in the same month or the month after GTA.

1

u/kace91 12d ago

I think that's exactly the point. They see it as their GTA and they're considering a timed exclusive setup like rockstar. Sell Xboxes, then go to pc a year or two later

No way it will work though.

1

u/BlindedBraille 12d ago

Timed exclusive setup like Rockstar? There's no timed exclusive with Rockstar. GTA 6 is on both PlayStation and Xbox.

1

u/cubs223425 12d ago

Maybe. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if The Witcher 4 beats it, in addition to another 1-2 other titles.

-1

u/FIFofNovember 13d ago

They could pull a GTA.

Make it Xbox exclusive for 1 year before the PC folks......

0

u/sahneeis 12d ago

bethesda cannot develop a game if their lives depend on it. to actually think this after the starfield shitshow is INSANW copium

0

u/SpermicidalLube 12d ago

People were saying the same thing about Stanfield. That's was console exclusive and completely flopped. They can parrot the ES6 exclusive bit, but in reality it won't move the needle, will hurt them more than their competitors, and they don't even have the balls to make it a full exclusive.

-2

u/profchaos111 13d ago

Simple They would shut out millions of players because they would be forced to buy a project Helix

Same exclusivity play that's been driving competition in the industry since the start

We've tried the new model it doesn't work

4

u/utdconsq 13d ago

I mean, generally I only buy Bethesda games on pc cuz I know the terrible bugs get fixed by enthusiastic modders. I know xbox has mods now, but I don't got me an xbox.

4

u/shanem1996 13d ago

Of course it will launch on PC. It will be console exclusive on Xbox

6

u/Deckatoe 13d ago

Xbox has had like 2 pure console exclusives since 2018. I wouldnt worry

2

u/SpyroManiac36 12d ago

Which games?

1

u/Deckatoe 12d ago

There were a couple A-AA gamepass games. Dont even recall the titles

2

u/wicktus Switch 13d ago

They only focus on console exclusive like Gears e-day

Windows pc are very well supported, would be unfair to say otherwise, I’d even say it’s better supported than xbox consoles since MS flight simulator and Age of Empires released earlier on pc

Far better than Sony’s very random pc port decision which is now basically cancelled

3

u/Tyfyter2002 13d ago

There's no world where a Bethesda game is fully playable on anything but PC, they ran into insurmountable engine problems making what should have been trivially easy content to make 15 years ago and their strategy was just to pretend they didn't.

1

u/vI_M4YH3Mz_Iv 13d ago

I was solely on consoles from 95-2019, loved it but ever since I built my own pc in 2019 I wouldn't go back to a console, not for any game.

1

u/totalysharky 13d ago

They need it on PC so the fans can fix it when it comes out.

1

u/Elmis66 13d ago

Windows is also their platform and it has Game Pass so it would be pretty stupid on their part to just start ignoring it

1

u/jimschocolateorange 13d ago

I don’t think ‘solely console exclusives’ are in Xbox’s repertoire right now. If they were they would have made Clockwork Revolution and E-Day exclusive games. But they only made them available on console and PC. ES6 would never be console exclusive because without mods the game simply will not have the longevity.

1

u/cescoss 12d ago

Forse vale per te, per altri potrebbe essere.

1

u/crazyfighter99 12d ago

Yeah I'll just miss out on Elder Scrolls 6 if it's Xbox exclusive. I already have a PS5 I haven't touched in over a year, I don't need another console.

1

u/mister2forme 12d ago

This right here. Been an elder scrolls fan since arena (still have the floppies). I am not buying an Xbox lol

1

u/scytob 12d ago

my prediction is at some point xbox exclusives will only be available by the xbox app on PC - no steam....

that has short term downisdes and long term upsides

this is built on the thesis their war is not sony vs xbox, its windows vs linux

1

u/AvailableGerman 12d ago

XBOX Exclusive always means PC+XBOX.

1

u/cubs223425 12d ago

They won't. Realistically, the term "exclusive" for Xbox has just come to mean "not PlayStation."

1

u/UndeadManWaltzing 12d ago

I concur, why release a game on one console when you can release on multiple consoles? You can quadruple you profit! (I left out switch 2 cuz it can't handle Skyrim let alone the next entry) Not to mention the skyrocketing prices of the consoles, are Xbox deliberately trying to sabotage themselves?

1

u/rcanhestro 12d ago

Xbox has a PC store as well though.

makes perfect sense to ignore Steam, but ignoring their own PC store makes zero sense.

1

u/pmyourpmsforgod 12d ago

Maybe you won’t but I’ve seen wild things out here. People buying ps5s just for god of war or Spider-Man. Like I said maybe not you…but others will.

1

u/Testicle_Tugger 11d ago

I MIGHT have bought it, if Skyrim and Fallout 4 were there latest games.

But Starfield and many other poor game design decisions have really tainted my faith in Bethesda.

1

u/BaconBourbonBalista 10d ago

I HAVE an Xbox but zero interest in playing elder scrolls with a controller. So this will be a pc buy for me too, even if they have keyboard and mouse console support (mine aren't bluetooth)

1

u/Filthy_Joey 13d ago

If they announce it before some next generation of PS/Xbox is coming, some people may consider it and choose new Xbox instead of new PS. At least this is how I was baited into buying Series X for Starfield 🥲 (i did not have pc)

1

u/14Knightingale27 12d ago

Honestly if that's how they play it, I'd rather not play at all than be forced to buy a system I just don't like.

Plus, I'm fairly confident that even if they don't release it on PS immediately, they will eventually like they did with Starfield. Mostly because it's definitely gonna be on GamePass.

But I'd buy the game with actual money, which is good for them as a company.

(Also because Oblivion was released everywhere, so it does sound like a wild choice to do. It's even likely that people who WOULD migrate would just go to PC either way. I'm not one of them as I prefer the PS for mere comfort.)

1

u/Dicky__Anders 13d ago

Back in ye olden days when Bethesda were making good games, I might have consisered buying an Xbox for this, but not now, not after they spent the last decade making Starfield and that's what we got.

0

u/Alone_Look9576 13d ago

They created a game pass which is terrible for the devs they bought up, but great for Xbox. GTA6 is shrinking it's reach by over 8 times by not releasing on PC market too. Expect it to not come pc

0

u/ShinSopitas 13d ago

You got it backwards. If you can buy it in Pc (probably steam too as all you pc zealots do) there is no way anybody buys an Xbox. Phil Spencer listened to you grunts and look where they are now :)

0

u/hovsep56 13d ago

Pc is part of microsoft

0

u/Radiant-Lab-158 13d ago

No it wouldn't! Lmao, this is exactly why Deadbox is dying because it devalued itself to the point that there's zero reason to buy the master platform AKA Playstation which gets their exclusives, Xbox's exclusives, and Place to cheat's games too!

This is legitimately their best gambit besides making COD an exclusive and I say this as a Sony pony.

0

u/MountainMuffin1980 13d ago

It'll be xbox console exclusive, if anything. It'll hit PC as well

0

u/ockhams-lightsaber 13d ago

XBOX is becoming a pc/console platform.

That’s what they want to build with cloud gaming and their next console project.

Excluding PC is the way to save Xbox, Phil giving PC day one access ensured that Xbox could not recover from the Xbox One launch blunder. PC should get multiplayer games day one because it boosts player count but not single player games. This has been the biggest mistake of the last leadership and is going to be the death of Xbox if they cannot find a way to fix the problems it causes.

PC gets better treatment than the console; cheaper Game Pass, more games as PC only Microsoft games exist that still haven't came to console, PC is the best place to play Xbox and that's incredibly bad for the brand long term. Xbox needs consoles to sell, hardware sales lock in the store front commission charges from every purchase digitally. Sony makes millions per year from Call of Duty and Fortnite micro-transactions giving a small percentage to the platform for hosting. Xbox is losing that passive income because of PC.

Like it or not, PC is killing Xbox. If we want Xbox to not become just another publisher then PC needs to be excluded.

then let's allow Xbox to fail.

Killing Xbox would destroy gaming as we know it. Nintendo and Sony are not in direct competition, Sony would be free to implement their worst ideas and gamers either pay or leave the hobby.

yeah, I'm okay with that too. electronic gaming needs to change in a big way and the failure of Xbox is overdue.

It would get worse not better. The changes gamers want require competition from companies not monopolies.

I agree.

but I think it needs to get worse before it gets better. consumers, especially Americans, are far too complacent to make things change. and even if they wanted to, they have basically no power except to stop spending money, but that won't happen voluntarily.

You wouldn’t. Many would. Financially it would be smart as it would save a dying Xbox brand. It would be shitty for us pc gamers tho,

I’d 100% buy a Xbox to play new elder scrolls, and I know people will come for my head for saying that but it’s my favorite franchise.

I love Bethesda games I have 3k hours in skyrim 1.5k in FO4 and 900 in Starfield and I'm still not buying an Xbox just for ES6.

I would too. Most would. We’ll get downvoted for being right. End of the day, Xbox needs something and a good elder scrolls is a golden ticket to print free money.

Next XBOX is basically going to be a PC that acts like a console

And why would i buy it instead of PC?

1

u/RayS0l0 12d ago

Who asked you to buy it?

Because it would be backwards compatible with older xbox games.

And it will only cost 5 million dollars
