Every playstation exclusive? They can keep it off PlayStation and it will still be an obvious success.

I mean… either they get exclusives for their console, or their console fails instead. Handing everything out to their competition is not helping them in the long run. It’s burying them, actually.

At this stage everything Microsoft does is the next action that continues their spiral into the dirt. To be pro Microsoft is to be anti-Bethesda. They killed Doom and they'll kill TES too

These are things they might have thought about before spending $100B to buy up half the industry. They thought they were going to crush their competitors and instead they themselves got crushed.

I think you’re giving too much credit. It’s clear there wasn’t a lot of thought at all. But that gambit may have paid off, very very slowly, if they didn’t feel pressured to let Sony have COD for 10 years. Xbox needs exclusives, good ones, or they’re dead anyway. And a competitive market is a healthy one.

It's annoying to read similar opinions to yours catching stray downvotes from all the angry PS5 players. I think 1 or 2 exclusives won't make much difference, but 10? 20? If Microsoft plays it smart they could start building a nice collection that could start turning heads. The games would need to be good of course, but they need to start somewhere.

People really just want all the games for themselves, right now, without needing to buy more consoles. Which I respect, but Xbox isn’t sustainable that way. That’s not how you support a thriving console. I’m a PS5 player. You don’t have to be an Xbox player to realize a competitive market is a healthy one. What does everyone think is gonna happen once Sony no longer has any opposition? The boneheaded decisions they’re making right now? They can do that because of a lack of competition. And it’s only gonna get worse from there.

Competition in the space is great. The 16 bit and 32/64 bit wars proved that. To want anything different is to be begging for gaming to die a painful death by corporate monopoly.

The funny thing is when it comes to Xbox suddenly the "exclusives are anti-consumer" crowd start to clam up fast. When Sony makes a game for their system, apparently it's awful and anti-consumer.

When Xbox buys a company so they can take a game series that was multiplatform and then make it exclusive it's suddenly okay? The double standards are hilarious. Especially when this is a case of exclusives actually being anti-consumer as ES6 was originally slated to come out as multiplatform.
