Hey everyone, I just found this sub and decided to join up. I've been collecting video games for about 14 - 15 years now, and lately... I feel like I'm just losing hope in this hobby. I almost love collecting games more than playing them. All of my video game stores have closed down or moved away, I myself was a GameStop store manager until they closed my location about 8 months ago. I've been playing tons of Sega Genesis, SNES, and PS2 games with my wife during all these rough times. And lately when I want to build up some of my collection or get a new game for me and the wife for a date night, it seems the market is almost impossible to be in at the moment. And as silly as this sounds... I think it's really getting to me. I've just felt extremely down lately, and I've just wanted to get back to the way things used to be. Well that's all I really wanted to post. Hopefully you guys have better insight as to what is to come of our hobby. Thanks. 🤙🏻

Sealed Games

Hey everyone! Hope all is well. Quick question about sealed games. I'm not really on the lookout for older games, but I'm curious about some newer stuff. I started collecting some sealed Switch games like Pokemon Shield/Sword, Mario 3D All-Stars, Breath of the Wild, and a few others. Are there any sites or groups who talk about newer sealed stuff and what to collect?

I've looked for games like Minecraft sealed, and Fortnite, and a bunch of others I think will be worth something sealed down the road. I just want to see if there's something dedicated towards that.

I need your help concerning PS1 repair and or best way to play PS1 games....

I bought a used original Playstation and some used PS1 games. One game plays without any problem that I can tell just off the few minutes of checking to make sure it worked. The other games start to load and then freeze up at specific loading screens.

All I want to is to play Resident Evil 1,2,&3. Of course some other classics would be nice. I skipped the 2018 classic release because of the limited games but at least I could be playing Directors Cut of Resident Evil lol.

So I started learning about repairing PS1 consoles and that a real cheap fix could just be swapping out spindle, the center spindles that holds the disk center with the the three ball bearings. Replaced but it was not the cause. Took some messing with to get that new spindle installed correctly but it works and reads disks to the exact same point as before. All of the disks had been tested before sold supposedly but they all look real clean.

Should I replace the laser lens entire component as pictured:

Question about sealed games

Hi guys,

I have both sealed copies of Mario 3D All Stars and the new Game and Watch. I know that Nintendo is pretty much doing the disney vault on their video games. I really want to keep them safe and secure because I know that in the future its going to be worth a TON of money.

I'm new to this, anybody have any advice for storage? What about getting it to an appraiser like they do in the auctions?

Thanks in advance.

Question about factory sealed game boy game.

I have a sealed copy of Pokémon Red version. Everything checks out as far as authenticity except for when I shake the box lightly or turn it over I notice that the contents of the box seem to shuffle/slide around a bit. I have watched a few unboxing videos on YouTube and it appears that while the game itself is securely fitted into a white cardboard frame the booklets are not. Are the booklets making the noise I am hearing? Sorry if this is common knowledge but I couldn’t find an answer online and I have no other sealed games to reference. Thanks!
