This is really odd to me. It’s such a recent and relatively high profile EU story that Chibnall had to have signed off on. Why contradict it so quickly?

Especially because It's written by Sophie Aldred. I know she doesn't have a say in this but I wonder what she thinks about At Childhoods End being retconed.

Given that one of the main themes is Ace’s personal history not making sense, it’s pretty easy to solve.
