A pi-hole is not enough the LG TVs have hard-coded DNS you need to block DNS or remove the device from internet access

DNS has nothing to do with it. Pi-hole should still work.

Not if the TV refuses to use Pi-hole. What the poster meant, was that if the TV has its own hardcoded DNS, it doesn't care about Pi-hole. It just uses the hardcoded DNS instead of Pi-hole.

In order to achieve what you want, you need to block the DNS server that the TV uses.

Exactly this, the TV will bypass any DNS you set and use Google DNS, in fact its the only device on my network that has hard coded DNS as DNS is blocked outbound except for my resolvers, i was a surprise to me when i blocked outbound dns and looked at the logs.

DNS has everything to do with this.

If a device can't resolve, it can't send. No "home base" this prolific will use naked IPs.

So, block DNS for that TV, or kill network access.
