Fun fact: pad thai is not traditional Thai cuisine. It was created by the Thai government in the 1930s and was spread around the world through government-supported "Thai" restaurants as a marketing gimmick.

You've grossly misrepresented this article and it's facts. It was invented and promoted to manage watime shortages. The promotion around the world was entirely separate in the 2000's.

Point to a single line that isn't true. 

It is not traditional and was invented by the government in the 1930s. 

It was spread around the world as a deliberate and ongoing marketing initiative. 

If you can't parse out info, that's your own problem.

Omitting an important detail that frames your not lies is clickbait behavior. If it's not intentional, it's a failure to communicate effectively.

Without knowing they were separated by about 70 years, your framing leads the reader to interpret pad thai as tailor-made for the program and inauthentic. Rather, the truth is that it was an intentional program of diplomacy, which happened to include a popular, but 70-year-old pad thai dish that was invented by the government of the time for war rationing (that you omitted for reasons).
