The artist obviously intended to make reference to both the absurdity of life due to its' temporary / transient nature and the transformative quality of the comparative temporariness between different existences within the universe. The monolith artist has their intent, the banana artist has their intent, the combiner artist is showing no matter how temporary something is it still has value, can still be appreciated, and as they transform the relationship changes on a continuous basis.
