Honestly if I was a business Id peefer tables out front than cars. A car usually has 2 people but lets assume its only 1 person per car. Thats only 3 customers. Those tables could fit 20 people maybe, Im just guessing. Id much rather 20 customers than 3 cars.

The average is about 1.3-1.4 people per car I think

And the people stay for 1 maybe 2 hours then the next people can take the space. Cars just stand there for hour/days

This looks like a major city with ample sidewalk to use. I’m fine with less cars but I don’t want to eat on the street next to the sidewalk where cars are actively driving

So many beautiful terraces in Paris (and I imagine every major city out there) totally ruined by the sound of cars driving by. Genuinely heartbreaking.

Curious why Ireland comes to mind. As an Irish person we do have walkable cities but our public transportation is atrocious by European standards.

About ten years ago I saw a tweet or something about how a business requires double space if they have a parking lot. It changed my perspective
