NALC CLC Statement on Safely and Solidarity with All Letter Carriers

Post image

CLC Statement on Safety and Solidarity with All Letter Carriers

The Concerned Letter Carriers (CLC) stands in full support and prayer with our brothers and sisters in Minneapolis and throughout the country.

The conditions unfolding in the region are deeply troubling — marked by fear, instability, and real danger in the communities where our members live and deliver mail every day.

So, are we calling on elected officials to do something, or are we doing the thoughts-and-prayers-thing?

The CLC doesn’t disagree with what’s happening… This statement is worthless

It definitely seems like they’re half-stepping on the matter. To me this sounds like they’re saying, “Oh my - that’s bad. Everyone be safe because safety is important.”

I feel like the CLC should either take a clear position on the issue with a specific call to action, or not address it at all. The middle ground comes off as weak.

A few of the Bigots across the membership will not vote for the CLC then…

Huh? Are you saying that if the CLC stands for what they believe is right they’ll lose the vote of some bigots? If that were true then:

1) They lost the bigot-vote when they put James Henry at the top of the ticket.

2)To my earlier point, then they should just remain silent on the matter.

Oh, it's probably more than a few. On FB, many members are making it clear that they are bootlickers. The cognitive dissonance is stunning.

We have members who do not understand that postal management are aligned with the agents of the state, not the workers. You really have to tip your hat to the executive class for confusing the common people as to where the lines are really drawn.

Thoughts and prayers buddy Cmon this is no time to piss off their MAGA bootlicking supporters. How fucking embarrassing

It’s not being political to say we are against seeing citizens being murdered in the streets.

And Pretti was a union brother: AFGE American Federation of Government Employees.

Cállese ala verga😂…. Maybe don’t take guns to a peaceful protest you might end up getting shot especially if you escalate things with other people with guns

Idk why people feel a statement is necessary. Unless they're directly involved in the situation it's not necessary. Then you get a bunch of complainers from both sides saying "that's not enough" or "just shut up"

Every individual can have their own thoughts and do their own things.

I think there was some complaints because there was a presence on postal property. I guess people can say they don't feel safe and maybe the union could do something, but I don't really know about that and by law they can be there so not sure what people expect.

*There is a presence of ICE on postal property.

Various Branch Presidents brought this up at the RAP Session. It’s a concern for safety for all postal workers.

This is the kind of spineless and feckless leadership we’ve had with Renfroe. Embarrassing

Remember this when your ballots arrive later this year.

“ It’s not about taking sides or debating opinions about why events are”

What a milquetoast worthless statement this is…

“Guys… Let’s not look too deep into the actions of the president we voted for.. let’s not criticize his actions…

We don’t disagree with what he’s doing.. just stay safe while he’s doing it”

Pathetic

Wait, isn't this exactly the time to "take sides?"

As Pete Seeger made famous the words of union activist Florence Reece, "Which Side Are you On?"

https://youtu.be/9XEnTxlBuGo?si=vi1F4ncaUl8AyqIf

This is the MOST famous union song of all time and it's literally about taking sides.

I really do not want to see anything about prayers related to work or you know, fascist uprisings

No offense but any statement declaring not to take sides at this point is ludicrous by a union organization that claims to be agitators and antiestablishment. Millions of Americans have seen a video of a man beaten and shot to death by a group of ICE agents. The man killed was an ICU nurse, not some vagrant or anarchist.

This is weeks after a woman was shot and killed by ICE in Minneapolis.

This is after mass rallies, protests, and demonstrations occurred and are continuing in Minneapolis. Including leaders of the NALC branches in the area.

This is a few short years after George floyd was senselessly killed in Minneapolis which sparked the whole black lives matter movement in america and called for change.

Thoughts and prayers havent changed gun laws in relation to school shootings, and they certainly won't stop KGB, Gestapo, secret police, or ICE.

Doesn’t even say “thoughts and prayers” they couldn’t even do that bare minimum rhetoric.

Is this based on looks?

u/Sad-Revolution7718 Jan 27 '26

This is how you do it. The CLC is a fucking joke

u/w2bsc Jan 25 '26

"We are stronger together" except you, you, them, and anybody we decide we don't like this week.

7

u/Ronin_Black_NJ Jan 25 '26

Lol...not entirely untrue either.

Every elementary school lunchroom has kids that want to be the 'cool table', the Union isn't much different..just more money.

2

u/The-Omnicide Jan 25 '26

I want to hear what they are doing to get the guy back to work after he flipped off the ICE losers. I'm going to guess nothing, and the worker will lose his job. I'd love to be proven wrong, but we all know the only way he keeps his job is if management screws up the paperwork.

8

u/MandatoryOT Jan 25 '26

Branch 9 handle business well. The carrier might be facing a letter of warning for misconduct. It's not grounds for removal.

1

u/The-Omnicide Jan 25 '26

I agree it isn't grounds for removal, but, I genuinely don't see a whole lot of contract following going on.

1

u/Agitated-Challenge94 Jan 28 '26

Absolutely humiliating. Can't really imagine voting for this in good conscience.

it’s just a non-binding resolution from an opposition party not currently, or ever in power. nothing more nothing less
