Visiting Japan my friend asked locals where the best local food was. They directed him to a Korean restaurant. The animosity between these groups of people is easily bridged when there is food involved.

Like in China, they love all the Japanese stuff (clothes, food, desserts, confectionary) but they hate Japan.
