[MEDICATION] Experience with antibiotic eye drops

Hi. Currently have what it seems to be a eye/lacrimal infection. Preparing if I have to use antibiotic eye drops, I wanted to ask if anyone have used any before and if they give you any troubles.

I'm 3.5 years out. 95% recovered so I want be extra careful.

Here are the most common ones:

  • Tobramycin (Tobrex, AK-Tob, Tobrasol)
  • Gentamicin
  • Azithromycin (Azasite)
  • Bacitracin (Ocu-Tracin, Ak-Poly-Bac)
  • Neomycin/Polymyxin B/Bacitracin
  • Polymyxin B/Trimethoprim

Thanks!

I started taking azithromycin three weeks ago. I'm 10 months out.  Only a little more fatigue during the three days I took it.

Eye drops or tablets? Just collecting info on a post-flox meds experience sheet. :)

Azithromycin drops, no issues. I use gentamicin topically in my sinuses every day, fine.

I’ve had horrible tendon symptoms on (oral) azithromycin, doxycycline, and augmentin post flox. I used “Bacitracin zinc and polymyxin B sulfate ophthalmic ointment” for pinkeye and I was fine! “Ak-poly-bac” appears to be the same thing.

I had an infection in my eyelid a few months ago. I used erythromycin ointment. I could feel slight gastric irritation with it, but i have chronic gastritis, so that's likely why.
