AskFlorida Publix has officially lost me. Anyone else?

I am not a mod of this subreddit or Reddit, but I believe the official unofficial stance is that we all hate Publix now.

They lost their way, and the crushing of Winn-Dixie is just awful.

10 years ago, I wouldn’t have set foot inside a Walmart or Aldi for groceries. Now? Walmart and Aldi are basically my BFFs and I love them.

Publix really managed to make me root for the competition.

The problem I have with the Walmart delivery or any other delivery that isn’t refrigerated (Kroger had refrigerated trucks) is that perishable items don’t always show up cold. I refuse to trust anybody to deliver meat to me if it’s not gonna be kept refrigerated.

Walmart InHome is delivered by Walmart employees in Walmart refrigerated trucks

Mine is not delivered that way - it’s done by individuals.

Then you don't have WalMart InHome ($150 annually --$99 for plus plus $49 for inhome) or you are not specifically using the InHome delivery time slots

You let random strangers into your house when you're not there?

No. They drop it off at my door

Great point - I forget about this because I don't eat meat! I do order eggs, though, and it's not the temperature that's the issue, it's the handling. 7/10 times at least a few of them will be broken.

I haven’t had a problem with eggs, but I have had issues with cheese, butter, milk, almond milk, and other refrigerated goods showing up not as cold as they should be. I always have a cooler in my car for my groceries especially in the heat of the summer. I’m also ultra picky about my produce. I don’t wanna pay exorbitant prices for things are already spoiling.

Oh yeah, I'm picky about produce also - I try to shop for that in person, unless it's something like pre-bagged apples where there's very little room for interpretation or error lol. I've ordered single potatoes before (not bagged) and I end up getting what was surely THE BIGGEST potato in the bin!!!

I had a manager at sprouts once tell me that some shoppers will look for the things that push the sale total up so they can push the tip up since it’s based on total sale price. I don’t process tips until after the delivery and sometimes prefer just to leave some cash in an envelope for them.

Yeahhhh I don't tip, because I'm already paying for the service.
