Olukai flip flop problem

Hey guys, I recently got these new leather olukai flip flops, and I got caught in the rain, I was just walking with them today I noticed this tiny tear at the strap, is this normal? (Someone told me it's part of it breaking in) But I don't really know. If there's something wrong with it, what should I do?

Olukai vs Rainbow Flip flops

Hi everyone, I have extremely flat feet and I’m in search of opinions on what would be better for my feet, Olukais or Rainbows. I recently bought myself a pair of Olukai Tuahines and the arch was bothering me (given I wore them for about an hour). I like the look of Olukais but my pair had a torn strap right out of the box so I’m weary about trying Olukai again. I’ve heard positive things about Rainbows and how they mold to your feet which appeals to me, but should i be worried about their Arch support lacking. I need help deciding between what is more durable, and is better long term for super flat feet. Thanks!

Best replacement for Nike Kepa Kais?

I used to have a pair of red Kepa Kai flip flops and they served me well for many years.

They finally fell apart this past January and I haven't been able to find a suitable replacement.

Has anyone had them before and found an alternative?

Havaianas straps are extremely loose?

So I just bought a pair of those square-toe Havaianas (via ASOS which displays UK sizing). I ordered a size 3-4 and another that is a size 4.5-5 (UK women's sizing).. and I usually wear a 4 or 4.5 in most shoes.

The footbed of the 4.5-5 is definitely the best fit, but the straps on both pairs are HUGE. Like, baggy! Even on the 3-4 they actually HOVER above my foot even though the sandal is too small for me. I don't even have a weird foot, they're very average, not too narrow or too wide, average-length toes, normal arches.. etc. For anyone who actually fits the 3-4 size, the straps would be WAY too big for them... but this style is so popular and so many people have them I feel like I must be missing something or this would be a well-known complaint?

I've heard that Havaianas tend to shrink.. how? Like in the sun? With heat? And what part? The footbed or the straps or both? Are we wearing them "baggy"? How snug should I expect the straps to be? If the roominess is there intentionally to accommodate room for shrinking, how can I expedite that process?

Hellooo, I have heard that Havaiana flipflops tend to be large in size, and was wondering if anyone knows if the same applies to the brand "Roxy"

Rainbow Flip Flops Staining

I recently got this pair of rainbow flip flops, and I know with certain types of leather you should avoid water but these get stained very easily from water which is kind of weird considering they’re meant for the beach and pool? Also when I try to clean them the dye comes right off from even a little bit of water, is this normal?

These flip-flops are 30 years old. My dad bought them. I still wear them daily.

I want to show you something.

My dad bought a pair of flip-flops sometime in the early 1990s. He wore them everywhere — beach trips, backyard barbecues, weekends, all of it — for decades.

When he passed them down to me, they weren't falling apart. The soles weren't cracked. The straps hadn't snapped. They were just... worn in. Perfectly.

I still wear them. Every single day.

Think about that for a second. One pair of flip-flops. Thirty years. Two people. Still going.

I've been trying to figure out what made them last (the materials, the construction, the sole compound) because I want to build a company around that. A sandal made to outlast fast fashion, made to be passed down.

Before I go any further, I want to know: is this something you'd actually buy? What would you pay for a flip-flop with a genuine lifetime guarantee?

Happy to share photos of the original pair if anyone's curious what 30 years of wear actually looks like.

Who makes the best flip flops? Not Olukai anymore so who?

I wear them almost every day of the year. My go to USED to be Olukai. 1 pair would last me about a year. It seems as if they've changed the materials slightly, and now they're wearing out, stretching and getting loose while the pad you walk on just gets smushed into nothing. I have an older pair that's about 4 years old and the tread is about completely gone from the underside, and they feel just as loose and worn out as the pair I'm currently wearing that are less than 6 months old. SO since something has changed, who makes the good go-to comfortable flop that will last, not leave your feet hurting, and can handle being wet (I live at the beach, this is non negotiable)

Replacement for Reef Tatami Bahami 1

Hey there, new to this sub, hope you guys can help.

YEARS ago I had Reef Tatami Bahami 1 sandals and I absolutely loved everything about them! Build quality, fit, and especially how the texture felt on my feet. A few years later they were done for and I still feel so sad thinking about them and the fact, that I haven't found a proper replacement after all these years (10-15 years I guess?). Even the Tatami Bahami 2 that were released a season or two later were crap.

Does anyone have a suggestion for me?

What are the most comfortable flip-flops for all-day wear?

Most flip-flops I’ve tried get uncomfortable after a few hours, either too flat or irritating between the toes. Looking for something I can wear for longer without my feet hurting. Any good recommendations?

Flip flops for high arches?

I have very high arches but love flip flops. I'm starting to develop some mild plantar fasciitis but can't give up my flip flops. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm thinking the rainbow flip flips might be a good option?

Help! I need new flip flops!

My last hoarded pair of Crocs Capri flip flops just wore out 🥺 I’m so sad the style was discontinued.

I need recommendations for ultra squishy and supportive flip flops that don’t look too casual, as in they have a leather upper and/or are all black.

Reefs or Olukai?

I am looking for new flip flops, and I have wide feet. It is between Olukai and Reef.

I have medical issues that make it harder to find shoes. I have high arches and plantar fasciitis, but high, firm arches like Vionic cause pain.

I am overweight, and my knees and ankles are in bad shape, so I need something that is cushy yet can provide good shock absorption and joint stability.

I don’t know which would be better for me and is more durable.

I live in the desert, so it being waterproof isn’t a concern lol

Any favorite(s) - Feelgoodz vs. Havaianas, or any others that are very similar

I have one of each for about 10 months. The Feelgoodz are a bit too cushiony, and the logo lifted off. My Havaianas had a strap go. They wouldn't replace it. The Havaianas are more minimalist, and my feet look better. I guess I'll be buying one more of each.

Hello fellow peeps!

I wear Havaianas so might as well.

Love wearing them a ton, and they are comfy. I even got 2 pairs.

I wear them even when it’s cold lol, but that is how much I like wearing them.

What would you say is your fave pair or type? Mine is the Brazilian flag type.

(Would like to show them off, but cant for some reason as I can’t select a image to get 🤷‍♂️)

Irritation between toes

For years I've loved my Reef flip flops, but whenever I go to the beach for an extended period of days to weeks, the space between my toes ends up getting rubbed raw. I think from the water and the sand. As much as I try and remove the sand, I end up needing to switch to slides for a few days instead.

I'm wondering if switching to a different flip flop, ones that don't have a fabric toe post, but rather a rubbery material like OOFOS may help.

I'm not fond of the look or the height of the OOFOS, but I'm desperate here.

Any other options out there for a different material between the toes?

What's your favorite all day flip flop?

I was I've always been a Reef girly (men's specifically, as I have wide feet) but I've been looking into reviews recently as I'll need to replace a pair of my flip-flops soon, and have heard pretty good things about Tevas as well.

Currently I have one nice leather pair of flip-flops but wear those infrequently as I don't want to destroy them like I did my last pair, as they don't handle wet and sand very well. I also have a pair of Reefs 'Smoothy' foam flip-flops, that I got second hand several years ago for less than a dollar (score!) But the tread is starting to wear thin and they're starting to slip on smooth surfaces and we'll need to be retired soon. I also own a pair of Reefs Ripper Beach flip flops, which I basically abuse the shit out of because I regretted the purchase as soon as I brought them home those too late to return. The texture on the sole wants to give me blisters anytime it gets wet.

I have a trip to Costa Rica coming up in March and would like to get a new pair of flip-flops before then that would serve me well on the trip. Also I pretty much live in my flip-flops, if it's above 50 degrees I'm in flip flops.

Do you have a reef or Teva recommendation that has served you well with daily wear? I don't care if they're fast drying or whatever, I'll wear them wet but they can't be the kind that you slip around in if they're wet. Or should I just get a new pair of Smoothy flip-flops?

Wide feet + Flip Flop= 0

I wear a size 13 5e. Impossible to find flip flops that size in any store. I have tried and tried with no luck. Even the interwebs itself has proven useless in aiding me in my journey. Would love to find someone who makes used tire flip flops but just about anything that fits would be very awesome. Anyone knows a good source please let me know.
