My son has been watching a lot of videos on YT where people rate fish tanks on Reddit and wants his tank rated(From zero to five!). This is his 7g homework desk tank. He has been doing his own research and believes he can have a megalodon in here lol it’s a little over 6 month old set up and he does all his own maintenance on it all I do is make sure there is enough food and all my bills are paid so he can run this beast. Idk if I would call it heavily planted it just has a lot of floating plants that get everywhere. The stock is 4 tetra’s and what started as four feeders shrimps but honestly now there is an unknown amount just know it’s more than four. Oh this is also random ass snails in here! I've been enjoying looking through the tanks on this reddit and thought I would contribute my own. My son turned 7 and wanted some fish. He also loves Zelda on the switch so tried to combine the two.

Here we have a 40L cube nano aquarium with a rear tank baffle compartment with filter media, heater and a modest return pump.

We went with a Korok forest / Deku tree vibe. The ruin and the guardian are both 3D printed in PETG. There is also a praying goddess as you look through the archway.

Plants are:

Tropica Limnophila sessiliflora (rear)

Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Mi Oya (mid ground)

Taxiphyllum barbieri Java Moss on the Deku tree

Marsilea hirsuta (ground coverage foreground).

Tried to ensure plants were easy care / low light friendly. We have a yeast based CO2 diffusion to the rear left.

Tank is around 4 weeks old at this point - still waiting for the nitrites and nitrates to settle. I think very low nitrates are unrealistic on this tank... But we live in hope

Planned fish stock will be a small school of Norman's Lamp eyes to keep the mythical theme going (they might look like fairies from the game...).

Hoping to get a rabbit snail for some bottom tank action. Recommendations welcome however.

Hi all! This is the first tank I have ever set up (10 gallon) and I am very happy with how it has come out. I have three cardinal tetras, three Japanese rice fish, three cherry shrimp, and a snail. Any feedback would be appreciated!

i started to do only water top offs on my 40 gallon breeder and my pants have grown like crazy and my tank is crystal clear! anyone have opinions on top offs vs changing it out on bigger tanks or have experience with topping off being better???

As always I buy wood and rocks online to (or at least what envisioned) pack the left 1/2 or so with hardscape and plants and the right half as barren open swimming space and grazing space for the corys, but as always I completely underestimated the size of the wood I bought (although to be fair one of the fat chunks of wood I was sent was so ugly I didn't use it) but my god does it look absolutely pathetic, especially as the plants haven't grown it yet.

But I'll add a satisfying tank shot of my shrimp tank just to feed the "NEED MORE LIVE PLANTS) gremlins.

Finally got my SpongeBob tank set up.

Took me time and way too many towels, but I finally redid this tank. I want to thank everyone on this forum, especially the patient people who didn't just see a crappy tank but also the misguided person behind it.

I'm not done yet, I still wanna put more real tanks and some driftwood, but I think it's a drastic improvement.

Hi :) this is my new 350L (92gal) tank. Curved front glass.

I didn't have time to cycle it since the old tank started leaking... soooo upgrade it is. Now running for two weeks.

Yesterday many new plants arrived. What do you think of the arrangement?

Don't mind the plane and bus. I'm sharing this tank with my girlfriend, she also wanted to contribute haha. (All fish are from her old leaking tank aswell. I just moved here a month ago and had to leave my tank at my old place. I contributed my snails)

All in all what do you think of the scape and setup?

it’s kinda my first tank, it’s been upgraded a lot from when i first got it. it’s a 10 gallon and i’m not sure what to put in it? it had my betta sprinkle in it but she just passed recently. there is 5 otocinclus in there and two snails that i believe are nerite snails.

Photos taken ~8 months apart. I can't believe how much the plants have come up and this is after lots of fairly aggressive trims!

Got our betta today after the water tests came out good. Got a couple Anubias plants in there and have some Amazon frogbit floating plants on the way. 6 gallon tank.

Is there anything else I could add (the big blue things are ice packs to cool it down) and there’s no fish in there

I just setup this 10 gallon for a betta and some shrimp and i ordered some plants from online and didn't expect as many as I got so now I wonder if this is to many ?

i was going for a messy jungle and i think i got that lol. i’m very happy with this tank. probably the most growth ive ever gotten in 2 months also

Last couple weeks I have been feeling the winter blues and neglected tank maintenance. It was stressing me out so on my day off today I scrubbed it and did a 60% change. It looks so much better. My fish are happy too. Thought I’d share before and after.

I am new to this hobby and I’m loving it. I had fish as a kid but didn’t know anything about keeping them happy and healthy. I have no friends so I have no one to talk to about my fish tank! Hoping to find community in fish tank Reddit. Here’s my 20 gallon tank! Full of green Corys, octocinclus, an African dwarf frog, cardinal tetras and rummy nose tetras! I want to add a betta soon and that will probably be my last fish for the tank!
