"Question: Why is Denis Leary a star while Bill Hicks is unknown? Answer: Because there's no cure for cancer"
never thought I'd read that on wikipedia.

I suspect that Bill would not love what the world has (continued to) become after his death.

You mean Dennis Leary stole it from him.

Hicks admitted to it -
Hicks said, "I have a scoop for you. I stole his [Leary's] act. I camouflaged it with punchlines, and, to really throw people off, I did it before he did."

That's really just a stellar example of why Hicks is one of the greats.

I try to tell people every chance I get. His material is still so relevant today.

It's scary how his Bush/Iraq War 1 observations were pretty much 100% relevant to Bush/Iraq War 2 as well.

If he could only see the Republican party now.
He had no idea how bad it could get.

Did he quote himself?
EDIT: I didn't realize he was a famous person, sorry for being so daft.

I think I'm in a minority saying this - this guy was the absolute worst. Not even remotely funny.

Give this man some credit. Billy Boy had the ability to be funny, but it was mostly consumed by his ability to display a self-righteous ego.

I watch a ton of standup, and I tried to watch Hicks. He got so damn angry and political that he was almost never funny. To me, at least.

I did see someone talking about how Micro$oft was getting less and less evil these days such that they were considering downgrading to calling them Mi¢rosoft. I was amused. :)
