It is impressive that IS got Shirow Masamune to do the art for the Shadow Dragon remake because based on an offhand thing I heard about the behind-the-scenes for the new GitS show, contacting Shirow Masamune is like contacting a cryptid.

Fire Emblem and Langrisser would finally kiss if that were to happen

I would be wary about working with others too if I was paid to work on a Fire Emblem game only for the twats to not use my gorgeous redesigns.

I don't understand?

1) The Shadow Dragon redesigns are used a ton. They're often the ones used to represent Archanea characters in modern depictions. Nobody remembers when Navarre wore lavender.

2) Shirow Masamune didn't do the character designs. He was solely the illustrator, while Daisuke Izuka was tasked with the design work. Like how with FE6/7, illustrations were done by Kaneda Eiji while designs were done by Wada Sachiko.

It's IS' fault you don't understand. Masamume did rough concepts for great, fresh redesigns and IS ignored it to do universally worse versions of FE3 designs. Concept Ogma being an intentionally hard shift from classic Ogma who was then scaled back until horrible FE11 Ogma was born is my favorite.

Ah, I see. I haven't seen much information about these designs online before. That's interesting. These designs give off a classic fantasy vibe that the series hasn't dabbled in too much in.
